Gifts of the Spirit: Prophecy, Tongues, & Interpretation

It's an honor again to be able to share with you guys tonight. If you don't know me, my name's Jonathan.

And it's good that you're here. It's good that we're here tonight, right? In the presence of the Lord. Before I get started, I just want to say thank you to you guys.

It's been a trying couple of weeks for myself and my family. My mother passed away a couple of weeks ago and it's. Listen, in the midst of it, I can truly say the Lord is good, right? And I only tell you that as a chance to say he's a good God. Right?

And he cares for us. He cares for us deeply. More than we will ever know, more than we will ever understand. He cares for us. So I want to thank you guys.

You guys did exactly what a family in the body of Christ is supposed to do. You uplifted myself in, my wife and our four kids. And I just want to say on behalf of our family, thank you.

With that being said, tonight we're going to continue our series in the Gifts of the Spirit. And it's an honor for me to be able to cover the topic that we're going to cover tonight, which is the gift of prophecy and the gift of tongues and interpretation.

There can be a lot of mystery around this. So tonight I just plan to keep it simple and just more of a teaching mode and just kind of dig into this and see what the Bible says about it and try to take some of the mystery out of it. There will always be a mystery in Christ. Right? There will always be.

None of us will ever have the complete revelation of who he is and everything he has in store and what his plans are. And if we start thinking that we ourselves alone have it, we are in a terrible place. So there will always remain a mystery in Christ. Thank the Lord. Right?

Because his ways are higher than ours. Right. His thoughts are higher than ours. Right. But he chooses to reveal Himself.

Thank you, Jesus. And the gift of prophecy and the gift of tongues and interpretation is one way that he does that. It's one way that he reveals himself and he reveals his thoughts. So I want to dig into that tonight, thinking we'll get started. Lord, thank you so much for who you are.

Thank you for my family sitting in front of me and how much they mean to us, Lord. And we just want to take a moment to invite you, Lord, to teach us of yourself, to teach us your ways. Holy Spirit, Lord, come and cleanse our minds, Lord. Wash I felt I heard this term, right before I came up, I just heard the term wash the day away, right? So for whoever, that's for let the Holy Spirit just wash over you and listen, wash the events of this day away.

That he would clear our minds, that he would clear our spirits, that he would clear our hearts. To hear from Him. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. First Corinthians, chapter 14.

If you want to turn there, we've read from this particular passage quite a bit during this series and we will continue to because it's the Bible, right? So we're going to read from it again. All right, so we're actually going to read quite a bit of scripture here on the front end. And I'm not going to explain all the scripture I'm about to read, but listen, it's the Word, so let's just read it, right? And it all has to do with what we're going to talk about.

But we'll, we'll bring out a few points in it tonight. So. First Corinthians 14, verse 1. Follow the way of love and eagerly desire the gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people, but to God.

Indeed, no one understands them. They utter mysteries by the Spirit, but the one who prophesies in tongue edifies themselves. Encourage and comfort. Anyone who speaks in tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the Church. I would like very every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy the the one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets so that the Church may be edified.

Verse 6. Now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you unless I bring some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction? Verse 12. So it is with you. Since you are eager for the gifts of the Spirit, try to excel in those that build up the church.

For this reason, the one who speaks in a tongue should pray that they may interpret what they say. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my Spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding. I will sing with my Spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding.

Otherwise, when you are praising God in the Spirit, how can someone else who is now put in the position of an inquirer say amen to your thanksgiving, since they do not know what you are saying? You are giving thanks well enough, but no one else is edified. Verse 18. I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. But in the church, I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than 10,000 words in a tongue.

Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like children. In regards to evil, be infants, but in your thinking, be adults. Verse 26. What then shall we say? Brothers and sisters, when you come together, each of you has a hymn or a word of instruction or revelation, a tongue or an interpretation.

Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. If anyone speaks in a tongue, two or three at the most, should speak one at a time. And someone must interpret. There is no interpreter. The speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God.

Two or three prophets should speak, and the other should weigh carefully what is said. And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. For you can all prophesy. Everybody say, all say all means me. Okay?

You can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of the prophets. For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace, as in all the congregations of the Lord's people. I'm having a hard time turning these pages, so I apologize.

This is embarrassing. Okay, I got it. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy and do not forbid speaking in tongues. But everything should be done in. In a fitting, in orderly way.

That's a lot, but that's. That's the word. And we want to try to dissect some of this tonight as we learn about the gift of prophecy and the gift of tongues and the gift of interpretation. Before we dig into that, though, I think it's important because I used to get tripped up in this a little bit, and I. I know I'm not the only one the diff. So I. I want to go over very quickly the difference between the gift of prophecy and the office of a prophet, right?

Just so we can draw that distinction, because there is some distinction there. And I want to make sure that we're on the right track as we're learning about the gift of prophecy. All right? So the gift of prophecy versus a prophet, all right? Every believer is exhorted to prophesy.

All right? Verse. God chooses prophets. It is not our own choice, right? We can't just wake up one day and go, hey, I want to be a prophet.

Right? It's a calling of the Lord. All right? It is a Gift of the Holy Spirit. Talking about the gift of prophecy, verse, A prophet is a gift from Jesus Christ to his church, right?

So the. The gift of prophecy is a gift to us. A prophet is a gift from Jesus According to Ephesians 4, to the church, to his bride. All right? It is something.

The gift of prophecy is something that you do. A prophet is something that you are.

The gift of prophecy is for edification, exhortation and comfort. Verse A prophet is one who directs, corrects, warns, governs and equips the church. Their prophetic ability is the gift versus the prophet themselves is the gift. And lastly, the gift of prophecy is for life and the calling of the prophet is for life. Right?

So there's some distinctions there, and we'll talk about those a little bit more as we go through. But let's dig into the gift of prophecy, and I've got five points that help us our understanding of that. So if you're taking notes, number one is the gift of prophecy should be exercised in a spirit of love, right? Very important. First Corinthians 14:1 and 1 Corinthians 13, 1 2.

So 1 through 2. If you speak in tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I'm a noisy gang and a clanging symbol. Noisy gong. Excuse me. And if I have prophetic powers and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains but have not love, I am nothing, right?

So the gift of prophecy should always be exercised in love, all right? Jesus is love and Jesus is the prophet. There's no need for us to change who he is. Right. When we prophesy in him, we present him to others.

Right? Our effectiveness in this gift is in direct proportion to the extent that our lives reflect him.

Right? If our lives are lived in a powerful way, our gift of prophecy will be exercised in a powerful way. But we can't live any way we want to and expect our prophecy to be powerful and effective. It doesn't work that way. Right?

That's why you see people who are prophets and pastors that are living an alternative life, they're eventually going to fall in a big way because their life doesn't warrant the words that are coming from their mouth. Right? And that should be a warning to us that we have to live in such a way that pleases the Lord and according to his word to be effective in this gift. Right? What does the Bible say?

There will be many in that day who say, lord, Lord, I prophesied in your name. I healed the sick and I cast out demons. And his reply will be, what? I don't know you.

Our lives have to line up with the word of God in order for our gift of prophecy to have a gumption to it and for it to be real, right? To have a substance in the Spirit.

We can't live one way and prophesy his word effectively. That's not how this works. They've got to line up together. Number two. The gift of prophecy is for everyone and should be desired by everyone, right?

Everybody say it's for me. All right, So I didn't grow up believing that the gift of prophecy was for everyone. That's just not what I was taught, right? I was. I had the idea that it was for the elite few and only people who were in full time ministry, vocational ministry, whatever you want to call it, that, you know, they were it.

They. They were the ones that were given the gift of prophecy. That's just not biblical.

So First Corinthians 14, one says, eagerly desire the gifts of the spirit, especially prophecy. Who is he talking to? He's talking to the church, right? And then verse 31 says, for you can all prophesy, right? The gift of prophecy is for anyone who has him as Lord of their life.

That's who the gift of prophecy is for.

Number three. The gift of prophecy is in direct proportion to our faith, and faith.

Comes by hearing and faith. The gift of prophecy is in direct proportion to our faith, and faith comes by hearing. Romans 12:6. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them. If prophesy, if prophecy, do it in proportion to your faith.

Romans 10:17 says, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. In order for us to give accurate words of prophecy, our faith must be built up by the knowledge of the Word of God. Right? Too many times are people prophesying, claiming to prophesy and what they're saying doesn't match the Word at all. Right, listen, little hint.

When that happens, it's not from the Lord, right? The Lord's not going to contradict himself, right? What we think we're hearing does not override what is written. Does that make sense? If it doesn't line up with the word, right, don't trust it.

I don't care whose mouth it's coming out of. It does not matter. If it does not line up with the Word, don't trust it. All right, now listen. We must both immerse ourselves in the Word and learn to recognize his voice when he is Speaking, right?

There's been times I've heard something and I knew immediately it was not the Lord because I knew the scripture that it contradicted, I knew immediately wasn't from the Lord, right? Because the devil still speaks, right? And his one goal is to trip you up, right? And in doing so, if he trips you up while we're prophesying, right? It not only hurts us, it hurts the people who is hearing it, who are hearing it.

Excuse me. We have to know the Word. We've got to immerse ourselves in the Word of God, right? For two reasons. One, to make sure we ourselves are on track and to make sure that what we're hearing lines up with it, right?

We've got to emerge ourselves in the Word of God. If his Word remains shut in our lives, our ability to correctly hear his voice is non existent, right? If his voice remains shut, our ability to hear his voice correctly is non existent.

And I don't care how long we've been doing it, just don't read your Word for a while and see how much of a difficult time you have hearing his voice.

It's going to happen. It will happen because it's the foundation of who he is. It's His Word. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God.

We have to have to emerge ourselves. In this book, John 10:27 says, My sheep listen to my voice. I know them and they follow me.

And listen, guys, we follow him by following His Word, right? If you ever want to know what to do, just do what this says, right? And now listen, you say, jonathan, but what about this, right?

What if it's not clear in there? Ask him, right? Open it up and say, lord, I need some wisdom. I don't know what to do. Will you please show me?

And let the revelation of the Word of God wash over your mind, your heart and your spirit. And when you've bathed in it, right, Your ability to hear His Word and proclaim His Word will be much more than it was before you did. All right, this is important. It's extremely important.

Number four. Prophetic words in the Spirit in which they are given are to be weighed carefully and tested, right? First Corinthians 14:29. Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. First John 4:1.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. All right, listen, we have an obligation to test the Word, right? You have an obligation to test what I'm saying against the Word and Again, it doesn't matter whose mouth it's coming out of. It is to be weighed and tested. Now, I'm not talking about some critical spirit where we cause division and we get our opinion mixed up with facts.

I'm not talking about that. Listen. But when someone says something that directly contradicts the word and we know it because we've been in it, right? Then we can rightly divide the word of truth.

And we have an obligation to ourselves and to the church to do so, right? An obligation is not too strong a word because the command is there.

The other should weigh carefully.

So, quick story. I was in my early 20s. It was before Summer, and I got married. So it was. I was 22, maybe 23.

And I'm sitting in a service, and I'm sitting on the front row. So it would have been, like, right here. In fact, I probably was sitting on the end because that was my unofficial official seat during that time of my life. So I was probably sitting right there. Summer was actually sitting beside me because we were.

We were dating. The label or courting, whatever makes you feel good about the label.

So we. And all of a sudden, this guy who would have been in the second row a few seats down there was a. A guy preaching. A minister preaching. His name was Art Katz.

Some of you will. Will know that name. He's gone on to be with the Lord. And if you knew our cats, you would know how strange this is, right, to happen. The guy our cats was preaching on Paul.

The guy stood up and he declares, I'm Paul. And I'm like, oh, here we go. That's exactly what I thought. I'm like, oh, Jesus, this is not going to turn out good. I'll pray for this man, Lord, help him, Jesus.

And as soon as he did that, some leaders in the house stood up and said, sir, you're out of line. You need to stop and sit down.

Because instantly, right, the spirit was tested, right? What was being said was tested because he's not Paul. There's only one of them, right? But it's not always that obvious, right? The devil is a smart individual.

He's very cunning. He knows how to twist words and manipulate scripture. He tried to do it with Jesus.

So it's not always that obvious. But still, whether it's that obvious or not, we have an obligation, right? To test the spirit.

There's sometimes when things are being said, man, they sound amazing, but there's just something wrong with it, right? It's like that's not sitting right. And at that moment may not be the time to say something about it. And you take it to the Lord, right? You have to use wisdom in this and let the Lord reveal to you, right?

There was one time early on in our marriage, Summer and I were at a church, and this guy was speaking. He was a guest speaker at the church. And, man, he's talking, and I'm just. I'm like, You know, what he's saying sounds good. But I'm like, something's just not right.

And I couldn't put, like, my finger on it at the moment, right? So we got home and I opened up the Word and I said, all right, Lord, why did I feel that way? Was it just me, right? Or. Or was I right?

Right? And what I was feeling, my spirit inside of me. And he led me to the scripture that dealt with what the guy was saying, right? And that feeling that I had, that uneasiness in my spirit was correct. And come to find out, I wasn't the only one.

And the guy was never invited back to that church again to speak after that, right? So it's not always so obvious. Sometimes it might just be. Mmm. That doesn't.

You know what I mean? I know what it feels like to be with Jesus, and this ain't it, right? I know what it sounds like to hear his voice, and I just don't think this person is speaking for him, right? But we can't do that without bathing ourselves in this, washing ourselves with the water of the Word.

Much of the gift of prophecy hinges on our knowledge of this and our ability to hear his voice.

Number five. The gift of prophecy is meant for edification of the body and to build the body up. First Corinthians 14:3. But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging, and comfort. And listen, even when a gift of prophecy might be bringing some correction into someone's life, because it does, right?

Sometimes we think if what we're experiencing by what someone is saying doesn't feel good, that it's not from the Lord. That's not always true. He may be correcting us. And correction doesn't feel good, right? It does.

I know because I got spankings a lot as a kid, right? We. Man, listen, we believed in it enough for our household and yours. So if you didn't get them, I got yours, okay? I'm just saying, right?

We believed enough for you and our family and several more, all right? So if you didn't get them, you owe me a thank you because I got them for You.

But correction. Doesn't feel good at the moment. Right? But we can still be being edified by it. We can still be being built up by it, even though at the moment it's like, oh, that's a little uncomfortable, Jesus, can we do this another way?

And thankfully, he says, no, let's continue.

Right? So just because something doesn't feel good doesn't mean we're not being exhorted or developed in it. Right? That's the grace of the Lord, right?

Yeah. Even when it is correction, it's not meant to tear someone down. Right. The ultimate goal is for their redemption. Right.

It's not to embarrass. Right.

It's not even to make them feel bad. Right. If the Lord convicts, let the Lord convict. But conviction is not our job. Let the Lord do it.

Right. But our goal is to pray for them, to lift them up. Right. Those who are mature in the Lord, when someone falls, they restore them back to the faith. And if it's happening through a word of prophecy, then let it happen.

Right? Sorry, babe, she told me not to say. Right. And I'm speaking. I apologize.

I apologize, babe.

Y', all, I'm about to get in trouble. I don't. I discern a spirit that's not in favor of me right now.

All right? That gave me time to get. Find my place again on the page.

All right? So that's. That's. We don't have time to go through everything that the gift of prophecy entails. Right?

But I know where you can find it. It's right here. Right.

Yeah, it's there. I promise. Just ask the Lord to help you. I do, all the time.

Right. Because I don't understand this whole thing. It's a mystery, but I know a Lord who unlocks mysteries. Right. Thank the Lord.

Okay, I got off track again. Gifts of tongues and interpretation. Let's go over this quickly. We'll try to wrap this up. All right, so there are three types of tongues.

The way I read the Bible, there are three types of tongues.

I'm going to quickly mention all three, and then we're going to talk about the gift of tongues as it applies to the gifts of the spirit that this teaching is on. All right, so three types of tongues. The first one, we'll call them. I've got three P's for you. Right.

We can make it memorable. The first one is personal. So First Corinthians 14, 4. This type of tongue is what we refer to as our personal prayer language. It is meant for both edifying yourself in the Lord and partnering with the Lord in prayer, praying through things of the Spirit that you may not necessarily understand with your mind.

Right? This type of tongues does not require an interpretation. All right? Personal tongues. And we got to get some cheaper paper.

This thick stuff is sticking together. Somebody made this stuff. Well, the second type of tongues is what we're going to refer to as proof tongues. So we have personal and proof. All right?

These are the kind of tongues that are found in the Book of Acts, chapter 2, right?

In Acts 2, when Jewish Christians spoke in tongues at Pentecost and the foreigners understood the languages spoken and in turn believed the gospel message, right? It was a sign, a proof to them that the Lord was real.

So I was in a service one time. And listen, I only tell you this because, man, it's possible that I was literally born in a church.

No, I wasn't. I was born in Winter Haven Hospital, Winter Haven, Florida. But I just say that because I was raised in church, been here, been in church, thank the Lord. Many opportunities to get off track. But the Lord's grace is good, right?

The one that's. And I say that because I'm not the only one that's in a service one time lot over the years. But I was in a service one time and someone started praying out in tongues, and it was some type of Indian language. Now, listen, not. I feel like I need to draw a distinction.

Not Native American like, but from the country of India, right? And forgive me, if you're from India, maybe you can help me. I have no idea what the language is called, but. So they gave the message in tongues. There was an interpretation for it.

And there was a lady there who walked up to the person who interpreted and said, I didn't know you spoke so. And so she goes, I don't. And she goes, well, you interpreted that to the T, right? And that lady got saved. It was a sign to her, right, that the Lord is real.

And I don't remember the exact interpretation, but it had to be personal to her on some point, right? And it spoke to her. She got saved.

And I guess in that point it was dual purpose. It was a prophetic tongue and interpretation as well as a proof tongue to someone that the Lord was real. But that's the kind of proof tongue that I'm talking about.

So that tongue does not necessarily require an interpretation either, right? I've heard stories of people going to foreign countries and just automatically the Lord gives Them ability to speak the native language. And they didn't have it before they got there, Right? And people got saved because of it. It was a proof to them that the Lord was real.

That's a proof tongue. The third type is prophetic tongues. That's what we're talking about tonight. So three P's, personal proof and prophetic. First Corinthians 12, 7, 11 says this now, to each one, the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

To one there is given through the spirit of message. Excuse me. Through the spirit of message of wisdom to another, message of knowledge by means of the same spirit. Spirit to another, to another, gifts of healing by that one spirit to another. I tried to start early this time.

Miraculous powers to another, prophecy to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and still to another, the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one just as he determines. First Corinthians 14, 26, 28. What then shall we say, brothers and sisters, when you come together, each of you has a hymn or a word of instruction. I a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation.

Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. If anyone speaks in a. In a tongue, 2 or 3 at the most 2 or at the most 3 should speak 1 at a time. And someone must interpret. Everybody say must interpret.

All right? If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God. All right, so three quick points under this type of tongue.

Number one, when used properly, it is a prophetic statement that commands the attention of those gathered in the Lord, right? It packs a punch, right? It happens among a group of believers that are gathered. And when that tongue, that prophetic tongue is spoken, it packs a punch, right? And it commands attention when done in the Lord, right?

If it's fake, it's fake. Don't give it the attention it needs. But when it's done in the Lord, let it happen, right? It's a message directly from the Lord. But it has to line up with this, right?

Whether it comes in English or some other language, again, it's gotta line up with this.

Number two, under that. This type of tongue is used in a group setting of believers and must be done in an orderly fashion. Otherwise it causes confusion and chaos and disrupts the flow of the gathering.

Right group of people. We all speak English, right? People are just given prophetic tongues, one right after another. No one knows what's being said. There's no interpretation.

It causes confusion. Paul addresses this. He goes, it should not happen this way. If there's a message, a prophetic message of tongues given, it must be interpreted, right?

So someone's got the gift of tongues. Someone's got the gift of interpretation, right? It can come between two. I've seen it come from one person, right? They gave the gift of tongues, interpreted it themselves.

And you go, well, wait a minute. Couldn't they just make that up?

Well, I guess they could, but that's why we have the obligation to do what? Test it, right?

Third point. It requires an interpretation. The interpretation of tongues is a revelation from the Lord of the meaning of the word of tongues. That was just spoken. Quite simple.

That's what the interpretation is, right? Cole gives a prophetic message in tongues, Right?

Pastor Nathan interprets the tongues. Now we're working together, one in the same spirit. Both should be tested, right? Oh, gosh, sorry.

She also told me when I come to my closing statement, not to say closing statement.

So in closing, But we'll try to wrap this up then. I want to pray, and I just pray for help. And then I just want to give the Lord a chance to do his thing, right? To move, right? I'm asking the Lord and have been asking the Lord to demonstrate himself in the gifts of the spirit, right?

Among our body. We already see already happens, man. But I just wouldn't mind if it happened more, right? I'm okay with hearing from the Lord, whether it's coming out of someone else's mouth, coming out of the word, coming from him. I'm hearing it, man.

I'm just okay with it.

I desire it. I desire to participate in it, both speaking it and hearing it. And I want to see him have his way. With that being said, I think it's important that we address one more thing as we close.

Words of prophecy. The gift of tongues, the gift of interpretation. Even prophets themselves. Like the office of a prophet found in Ephesians 4, right?

Those were never meant to replace the word of the Lord in our lives, right? It's in addition to. They were never meant for us to stop hearing from the Lord directly and only hearing from someone else, Right? I knew of a pastor one time, I was probably 15, 16 years old.

There was just. I couldn't explain it back then. There was something that was, like, uneasy, like when I would be around this gentleman.

Come to find out later, there was a. Like a controlling spirit, and he was teaching that he was the only one that could hear from the Lord on behalf of those in his congregation, right? And I'm like, the Bible doesn't teach that. In fact, it encourages us to hear from the Lord ourselves. Listen, we are to honor apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers for who they are.

The gift they are to the church, we are to honor them. But they were never meant to replace the word of God in our lives, right?

Man, we can't miss out expecting someone else to hear from the Lord on our behalf. Like sometimes we need it. Sometimes we're just in a place where we need someone else to go to bat for us, right? To pray for over us, to give us the word of the Lord that they're hearing on our behalf, right? But we can't get into the habit of chasing a prophetic word for ourselves, right?

I've seen people, they'll fly all over the country, spend tens of thousands, hundred thousands of dollars going to all kinds of prophetic conferences. And listen, I have nothing against a prophetic conference. If someone is teaching the word of the Lord about a prophet, the gift of prophecy, whatever it may be, I have no qualms with that, right? But it's like that's the only thing that sustains them. There's nothing real on their own, there's nothing real in of themselves, right?

There's no knowledge of the Word, there's no listening to the voice of the Lord for themselves and they've replaced it with this. And it was never meant to be that way, right? It was never meant to replace the voice of the Lord in our own lives. It's in addition to.

Our chase should be in pursuit of him and hearing his voice. And if he decides to throw a word of prophecy in there to us on the way, then let it happen, right? But we've got to learn to hear it for ourselves. Listen, because if we don't, we will never have it to give to someone else, Right? And it's needed a gift of encouragement, right?

That's the spirit of prophecy, right? Hey brother, listen, I heard you're not having a good day. I heard it from the Lord. Let me pray for you. That's the spirit of prophecy, right?

Saying, hey, you know what? The Lord had me awake last night. It was at 2:37 in the morning. I woke up, right? Praying for you.

Come to find out at 2:37 you were having an issue, right? That's the spirit of prophecy, right? It's hearing from the Lord on someone else's behalf and then speaking it out, whether it be to a person or back to the Lord. It's the spirit of prophecy. May we operate in the spirit of prophecy.

May our lives warrant the spirit of prophecy. I'm not talking about how we can earn it. You can't earn this. It's a gift.

But, Wayne, we never think we can live in direct opposition to this word, right? And still exercise the gift of prophecy like it was meant to be done.

God forbid. That's not of the Lord. That's not his spirit.
