I've Gotta Get My Glow Back

I'm super excited to bring this word. And so I'm gonna begin. I'm gonna begin in a different way than maybe you think. And I'm gonna begin by telling you, surprisingly, one of my favorite television shows. I remember as a kid watching this TV show, and my grandmother loved it, and it was this game show, and surprising, but probably one of my favorite shows is Family Feud.

Now, I need to explain that because there needs to be context. Number one, it's comical to me, first of all, because where do they get these hundred people polled? They get these answers? Do you. Do you ever see the answers and think you.

You polled what? Like, where did you go to find them? Hundred people? And then the other thing that's funny is where do the Family contestants come from, right? I mean, some of their answers, some of the things they say, it's just amazing.

And this is the thing that hits me more than anything. Family Feud is entertaining to me because there are people on Family Feud that should never be on tv, right? Like, and if I'm going to be on Family Feud, how many of you know, there's certain family members I will choose.

And there's certainly families, certainly certain family members I will leave out. Like, you know, like a question is, what is your favorite food to bring to the family? Barbecue. Click. Red pepper hummus.

I mean, you leave that uncle back home, you don't bring them, right? Because I'm not trying to make a YouTube compilation. I'm trying to get $20,000 in a truck. That's what I'm trying to get, her car. So anyway, there was one particular question on Family Feud a while back.

I remembered it because it really applies to what I feel like God wants to say to us. And the question was, name something people often notice first about someone's appearance. Name something that people know. And 100 people are polled. You gotta answer it.

And I'll give you a summarization. All of the answers pretty much fall under the category of what is the sophisticated term visage? And visage is your face, your expression, your eyes. The first thing that we notice about people, right? Hundred people poll, they're experts, is that they notice your countenance, they notice your face and notice your expression.

And this is something that stands out to me. Many of you know, and I was just talking to JJ about this. I was born and raised in Oakland, California, before I gave my life to Jesus Christ on a college campus. I had the opportunity of seeing God doing incredible work. And my grandmother.

My grandmother pretty much raised me. My mom Was in the home, too, working a couple jobs. My dad was not in the picture, but my grandmother was invited. She went to a supermarket one day, and she was invited to go to this church. She decided to go.

My grandmother at that time, she grew up kind of in church, but she had kind of lost touch with Christ. She had lost touch with being in community in her church. And so my grandma, this stage in the game, and I'm in high school, she is four decades into being an alcoholic. She would have told you she was a functioning alcoholic. I can remember the atmosphere of our home, the heaviness, the darkness of that depression.

My grandmother would cook food. She'd take care of me. She would drink, she'd pass out. I'd come home from basketball practice. My food would be on the oven in our.

This kind of tenement kind of apartment complex. I would eat out of the skillet, help my grandmother to bed. But on this particular day, it was a midweek service. So she goes to this Wednesday night service. I'm coming back from basketball practice.

These ladies had invited my grandmother to church. She goes to church, she hears the gospel, she walks forward, she commits her life to Christ. My grandmother is delivered. She is baptized in the Holy Ghost. She confesses Jesus, Lord.

She hops back on AC transit, Goes all the way back to our West Oakland apartment, walks up the stairs. I come home from basketball practice in time enough to see my grandmother breaking all of her alcohol bottles. She broke all her alcohol bottles like, it was like, I'm not even. God had so taken the desire out of her for alcohol and so filled her with joy. She had no use for this.

But again, I'm in high school. I'm not saved. I don't understand this. I don't understand, like, I want her to not be an alcoholic, But I'm thinking, you gotta go to, like, one of those, like, centers where they gradually reduce you from the ban or weaned or unwanted substance, and you gradually replace that addiction with another addiction. Isn't that how this thing works?

And my grandmother looks at me, and two things stand out. Number one, she says, grandma and I. I'm thinking this, but my grandmother's super prophetic already. She says, grandma doesn't need to take 12 steps. Grandma just needs to take one. I gave my life to Jesus Christ.

He set me free. The other thing that I notice about my grandmother was her countenance. It would. It. Her countenance glowed to such an extent, it gloriously haunted me.

I'd never seen. My grandma's a beautiful Woman. But I'd never seen the glow that I saw on my grandmother's face in that moment. And so Grandma, I like to tell people, Grandma went from moonshine to sunshine. You know, I don't know, something like old school, people know, moonshine making, making alcohol, whatever.

All right. And so I started to think, what story does your countenance tell? If the first thing that people notice, according to Family Feud, is your visage, Right? What story does your countenance tell? Because one thing about my grandmother, I would give my life to Jesus Christ because I learned something.

You can't argue with a shining face.

Hello, Stephen. In the Book of Acts, they couldn't argue with the wisdom or spirit which he spoke. His face was like, glowed like that of an angel. You can't argue with someone whose face is shining. I'm not talking about going around with a manufactured smile.

I'm not talking about trying to fake it till you make it. I'm talking about when the glow of the Lord is on your countenance and you have the Jesus glow. Come on, somebody. Now, when I talk about the Jesus glow, I'm talking about three things. Number one, the Jesus glow is a spiritual manifestation.

I'm not talking about outwardly beautiful. You guys are a very beautiful group. I'm talking about an inward beauty that begins to seize your face because of a closer relationship with Jesus that this spiritual manifestation. Yes, there are spiritual manifestations that are the gifts of the spirit, healing and the prophetic and the gift of faith. But I believe your countenance can be an immediate spiritual manifestation that other people can see.

Number one, when I'm talking about the Jesus glow. Number two, it is a reflection of God's presence. My grandmother met Jesus. She stayed at that altar until God completely set her free. And the Jesus glow is a reflection that of God's presence.

It's an outward expression of joy, of peace, of love that comes from being in communion with God. How many of you know you can look at folks face and tell who they've been hanging around with or what they've been hanging around doing because you wear it in your countenance. Number three, the Jesus glow is a transformation of life. It's a sign that you've been changed by the transformative glory of the Lord that to such an extent your face looks different. I can remember after my grandmother had given her life to Christ, years later, I would give my life to the Lord because of the glow and the testimony of her life.

And I can remember looking in the mirror that night After I gave my life to Christ. And I'm not exaggerating, I look different to me. And people would say, sean, what has happened to you? My face was already declared. You guys know what I'm talking about, right?

You ever in some place, and maybe you're at a restaurant, you've got the waiter or waitress, or you're at some sort of establishment, you see someone you don't know, but you know, I have a good feeling, you know Jesus, because your face looks like it's been saved. Come on, somebody. Romans 11. Excuse me. Romans 12:11 in the Moffitt translation says, never let your zeal flag.

In other words, never be lacking in zeal. But the next thing, Paul writes to the church at Rome. He says in the Moffat translation, maintain the spiritual glow. Serve the Lord. We've been given an injunction to maintain the spiritual glow.

Now, why is this important for right now, Sean? Because I believe one of the things that warfare and distractions do is that they come to unplug us from the glow, from the communion that allows our face to. And our countenance to proclaim revivals going on on the inside of our hearts. I didn't say that good enough because I only heard three Amens. And one of them was Pastor J.

The enemy tries to interrupt your connection with God because he wants to stop the advertisement that comes across the screen of your countenance. David proclaimed it like this. In Psalms 42:11. He says, For I shall yet praise him the help, or what it means also is the health of my countenance. In the original Hebrew.

The proper rendering of this verse, again, I'm. In Psalms 42:11, it says literally, I shall yet praise him for the help of my countenance. The original rendering in the verse is, God is the salvation of my face.

God is the salvation of my face. This is this. And I believe David is saying something. David is simply communicating. Your face is a billboard that advertise what's going on in your soul, Right?

If there's joy in your soul, we'll see it. If there's turmoil in your soul, we'll see it. If there's impurity in your soul, we'll see it. If it's a pure devotion to Christ, we'll see. We will see it on your countenance.

And I. I believe it should be our aim that just as Paul talked to the church that we should maintain the spiritual glow. Right now, observation. I'm gonna take a sidestep and we're gonna go to Exodus 34. Observation. This is an observation of mine right now.

Today, bare minimum in the body of Christ has become impressive. Let me say that again. We are in a day right now. We've come to the point where bare minimum in the body of Christ has become impressive, right? Like somebody will say he put Christian in his bio.

Come on, young lady, is that all it takes? I'm telling you, if you want to build a happy marriage, you want to build a fruitful, God fearing family, you're going to need more than Christian in his bio. You're going to need Christ in his heart, right? They said faith in their LinkedIn. Come on, somebody.

They said God bless in their TikTok reel. They thank God on the American music. Let me tell you what, that song breaks the heart of a holy God. Nothing about them speaks to Jesus, but we're gonna proclaim their Christianity based on the fact that they threw God a bone and said, thank you Jesus. I'm smiling, but I'm grieved over this stuff.

But bare minimum in the body. And what I'm saying is we got to lift the bar, somebody. We got to raise the bar. And your countenance can't lie. Your countenance jealous.

Come on, somebody. Okay, now I'm gonna step on some toes, right? Bare minimum in the body of Christ. Well, I'm. I go to this church.

I love pastor, I love the. And how often do you go? I go once a month. Like this is your home church, this is your faith community. You love the Word and you're only in church once a month.

That means three times a month you're not in church. What if God only answered three out of every. Or excuse me, didn't answer three out of every four of your prayers? I didn't get a lot of amens. I'm an amen myself.

Come on, Sean. We gonna get committed, Sean. We're gonna go for it. Oh, man. There's a popular meme saying that says, that's on me.

We set the bar too low. And I think what people are saying today, and I hear it, if I don't hear it in conversation, it's an inaudible cry. And the cry is, I gotta get my glow back. Somewhere along the line, something disconnected, something ran interference. I went through a tough season, Sean.

There are things going on. My family, things going on with my kids, my marriage, our finances have gotten funny, man. Old things have kind of begin to crept up. I began to feel more pressure going on at work and anxiety led me. And I'm telling you what, there's a cry for I've got to get my glow back.

And that's why we're talking about this this morning. Exodus 34:29 says, and now. So it was when Moses came down from Mount Sinai and the two tablets of the Testimony that would be the Ten Commandments, were in Moses hands when he came down from the mountain that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone. Somebody said shone. My dad was from Oklahoma.

He called me Shon, although he named me. My mom named me Sean and Shon. So I think of, like, what, you know, he says, and Ardmore, Oklahoma. And the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone and they were afraid to come near.

And whenever the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses face shown, then Moses put a veil on his face again until he went in to speak with him. All right, the backstory goes like this. At this particular place, we are 90 days removed from God intervening and breaking the back of the then known power of the early world, Pharaoh and the Egyptians, that God brought plagues upon this oppressive nation that had God's people, the Israelites, in four centuries of bondage. The plagues included frogs and flies, hail and boils, locusts and darkness. They're 90 days removed from a man lifting up a stick like a sea parts the people walk on dry ground.

He lifts it again and the seas come and drown. Pharaoh's army on the other side of this, Miriam gets a tambourine. I want to be at that worship service, right? They are praising God. And 90 days later, later, the group have lost their glow.

We're going to break this out in just a minute. And the best way I could say it is I want to give you three backdrop moments to lead up to this scenario. Backdrop number one, we just read Exodus 34, say 34, two chapters earlier. Exodus 32, say 32 was the first time Moses would go up to the mountain. And here is the situation, and I will tell you what moment number one.

I call it no flow. No flow. You lose your glow in the beginning because there's no flow. It says in Exodus 32, verse 1. And when the people saw that Moses delayed, say, delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron and said unto him, up.

Make us a gods who which shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him? And here's what I love to say. In the absence of the glory, we reach for something shiny. In the absence of the glory, we reach for the shiny.

That here is Moses. Moses represented the presence of God. He was the go between. He was the mediator. And Moses goes up on the mountain.

Exodus 32. He would be up there for 40 days. Somewhere in the midst of this, God has given them the Ten Commandments. And God says, hey, Moses, you got to get down there. Because the people have corrupted themselves.

So there are two scenes from Moses perspective. He's interrupted in his communion with God and getting the Ten Commandments. And I think there's an interesting thought that the commandments were broke before they ever got to the people, right? So they was going to break it all, right? But the reason why they were unrestrained, we see from their perspective, Moses had been gone too long.

Moses represented their flow. And when their flow was gone. Let me go back to the word. Exodus 32, verse 1. It says when the people saw Moses delayed coming off the mountain.

The word delayed is a Hebrew word, and I might be mispronouncing it. Scott can help me with it later. Boosh. That's what it looks like. It says to me, somebody say bush?

It means to delay, to disappoint, to become dry. When the people saw that Moses delayed, the bottom line is they became disappointed. They became dry. And when you become disappointed and dry and you stay in that place of disappointment and dryness too long, you lose your flow. How many of you know there's a river?

The Bible says, Jesus said, if anyone is thirsty, let them come to me and drink. Out of the innermost being shall flow rivers of living water, right? So here is the deal. If your flow isn't right, it's because your drink isn't right.

Come on. Nine o'. Clock. Jesus said, if anyone's thirsty, let them come to me and drink. Out of the inmost being shall flow.

If your flow ain't right, it's because your drink isn't right. If your drink isn't right, it's because your thirst is. Isn't right. Because he said, come to me. Oh, come on, somebody, come to me.

All of you that are thirsty, I'm not talking about Internet thirsty. Come on, somebody. I'm talking about thirsty for the Lord, that if you want to repair your flow, you got to repair your thirst. This is where it begins. Their thirst begins to wander.

You lose your glow when your thirst begins to wander. And your 90 days removed from. From the greatest demonstration of God any generation is seen on the planet outside of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. And three months later you're building a cow calf God. Baal, they couldn't.

That God couldn't even protect the Egyptians from your God. But you're going to worship that God and say, this is the God that brought us out of Egypt and it's going to bring us from this point on. And the answer says, survey says, Have you gone too long between your last encounter? There were 90 days removed from being delivered, but they're 40 days removed from their last encounter. When's the last time you had a really deep encounter with God?

I, I believe encounters are available. But, but many times God is sovereign. There are times he'll just give you an encounter. But I'd say more than ever, we've got to seek the Lord for an encounter. I gotta have a fresh encounter.

I can have a nice church experience or I can have a holy encounter. It's my choice. Somehow I wanna turn this experience into an encounter. I got a lot of Christian experiences. You got a lot of Christian experience.

And if experience alone could save America, we would be saved many times over. But what America is lacking is not the Christian experience, but the Christ encounter. We got to get back, folks, where we have an encounter, right? Your warfare is always over your flow. The enemy wants to cut off your river.

Now let me answer a question. Why do spiritual highs fade? I've done a number of youth camps and young adult camps, but I'm not just putting it on the emerging generation. I see it in terms of, you know, churches that have church conferences or they have special speakers come in, or they have unique seasons where God has visited them. And the question again is, why do spiritual highs fade?

We see an answer here. What causes the crash? Let me give you a couple thoughts. First of all, a house doesn't fall if it has a strong, strong Foundation. Matthew 7:25.

A tree does not wither if it's got deep enough roots to tap in a water supply. Psalms 11:3. Why do spiritual highs fade? Let me tell you what the answer is simple. It's found in this passage.

Spiritual highs fade because we're not seeing God. When you go too long without seeing God, in your quiet time, in your day to day life, in your time, not just at church, but the other days and hours outside of church, when you go too long without seeing God, your spiritual highs fade. And I'm one of those ones that I submit to you. I don't think that that has to be the case. I read Book of Acts.

I read the Spiritual Giants, and they lived on a spiritual high. And I believe we can as well. Can you say amen if you agree with that Moment number two. I said the first moment was no flow. The second moment is a faux show.

But let me explain to you, I'm not just being hood or ghetto right now. Faux is faux, as in false or fake leather. Right. Fake Gucci bag. Right.

Or anything. A faux show. The people of God got bored, disappointed. They became dry when Moses stayed too long. So it'd be one thing that you're just wandering around distracted.

But they had to have a substitute. So they go to Aaron. Aaron, you're supposed to be a leader, brah. Come on, somebody. If the people come to you and go, we want you to make baal, which is the deity of the Egyptians.

You need to shut that down quick and begin to direct them towards the Lord. This guy says, okay, give me your bling, give me your jewelry. We're gonna make. And. And let me tell you what you need to thank God that you're in a church that is not just gonna give you what you want, but.

But literally preach to you what you need in Christ.

This is what happens. A faux show. And again, I'm not going to take the time to do it, but there are a lot of churches across America. They got a faux show going on right now, when in fact, maybe you need to strip down all the veneer and just get back to pressing into the presence of God. I love when Pastor Nathan just hovered a little bit right at the end until end of worship and was ready to go with a Jesus audible.

Those moments were. Are everything. A faux show. He told him, break off your earrings and I'm going to make this gold calf. And all of a sudden, they're going to make the calf.

And then Aaron had the audacity of saying, today we're going to worship baal, tomorrow we'll worship the Lord. There's a theological term for it. It's called syncretism, where you're trying to blend and bring mixture. No, no, no. You can't worship BAAL today and worship God tomorrow.

That's not going to work. What you do Saturday night has everything to do with how you worship Sunday.

Come on, somebody. It's human nature that when we lose the woe of God, it's at that moment we substitute a show for God. When you lose the woe. How did I know? It's about a woe.

Woe as in Reverence. Because when Moses comes off the mountain with the glow, it says the people backed up from and they were afraid. But, but what is it saying? It's saying Moses got the glow. It brought the reverence of God back to the camp.

That this thing is more just that, about brightening your face. And you know, you can have a, you know, there's a term for it, a glow up. I'm not just talking about a facial glow up. I'm talking about something comes deep awesome.

A quick life principle. And I recognize our time. The quick life principle for me is that I've learned something has really helped me as I've grown older. And it's this phrase, the blessing of refusal. When Moses is up on the mountain, Exodus 32, and he heard that the people have unrestrained themselves, God says, get down into the valley.

Which is interesting that the answer to if you will, the new age immoral party crazy, out of control ness that's going on down there. The answer was to get the glory of God back in the camp. He says, moses, you gotta get down. This is heaven's prescription. You gotta go down there.

And so Moses comes down, he sees it, it says he became angry, broke the ten commandments. He goes down and summarization. He draws a line at the edge of the camp, says, whosever on the Lord's side come to meet. And the Levites and some others came to him. And then he ground up BAAL and made them drink it.

They had a BAAL smoothie, right? Like you need to understand this. And then the sword of judgment went through the camp. But I started thinking about the blessing of refusal. And the blessing of refusal is.

Listen to me, here's the truth. Blessings don't just come from stepping into things. Blessings also come from stepping away from things. If you understood the blessing of refusal, I wish I could preach right now. Come on, somebody.

I mean, I'm talking about the blessings of refusal. When Joseph refused to be with Potiphar's wife, how many of you know he got blessed? Come on. When Moses refused the Egyptian heritage and lifestyle and chosen the ill treatment of the nation of Israel. The reason why we're talking about this man of God today is, is he refused something.

When Jesus refused the enemy shortcut on the mountain of temptation, all those different temptations, bow down to me. Throw yourself off all this stuff. There is a blessing in refusal. And it is a weapon to be able to break bondages, addictions, iniquities in your life. To say, if I can just get a no out of my life.

Come on, somebody. If I can shut down the BAAL show, there's a blessing that will begin to flow. This is what we're after, somebody. Oh man. Revival has a shine.

Religion has a grind. I think that the grind of religion may be attractive in the beginning. Maybe. I, I, I would maybe debate that, but it's short lived because Jesus didn't get up out of the tomb for the grind religion. But he wanted to bring the shine of a revival relationship.

Moses Church versus Aaron Church, right? Moses is calling for a different church that Aaron is calling. You guys are with me. Aaron is the one that give me your bling. I'll give you a small G God that I'm making for you, right?

I started thinking of Moses Church versus Aaron Church, right? Moses Church is Take Back Church. Trying to take back territory the enemy has stolen. Trying to take back and reclaim souls and lives and people's marriages and their children's and the destinies. There is take Back church and TikTok Church.

Come on, somebody, let me break it down better. Aaron Church is trendy, swaggy, but empty. Moses Church is authority, presents priority and brings liberty. I want to be in Moses Church. I want a church with a glow.

Come on, Refuge, you ought to really clap because you're in a Moses church right now.

Vance Havner, great man of God, said it like this. I love it. He says we don't need more programs on file. We need more people on fire.

Oh my goodness. Vance Havner, the great Bible scholar, speaker, man of God, says we don't need more programs on file. We need more people on fire. Third point, Third observation. It's the first one I talked about.

There was no flow, then it was a faux show. Now Moses brings that retro glow. Retro glow. Moses came back looking differently than he left. How many of you know that the Bible says his face shown.

My question is, do we leave church looking any different? Do we leave Bible studies or small groups looking any different? Do we come out of a worship set looking any different than when we went in? Because I'm saying something to you. The Jesus glow ought to be observable, transferable, observable.

It's a revival radiance that comes out of your countenance. It's the inward reality. I'm out. This is simply. Let me one time I was on a plane.

That's kind of funny to say. One time, like many times I'm on a plane and I got bumped up to first class, which I love that, right? That's my love language, one of my love languages. The counter saying, sean Smith, would you please come to the front desk? I'm like, I feel so loved right now.

Right? I got bumped up. And so obviously the two seats on each side in first class, and you got three on each side in the back, it's tighter. All kind of difference. I'm sitting there, and I had been preaching, and I was flying back from the east coast, and I had a connection in Dallas, and it was at Dallas, they told me, Dallas, sfo that I got a bump up.

And so I'm fading. I'm so sleepy. I had been staying up, preaching young adults. We stayed up till we hours in the morning going for it, going for it. So I just fell asleep.

And I don't know if you ever felt this way. I think. I'm sure there's a science behind it, but I think there's something spiritual about it. The woman sitting next to me, I didn't know her. I didn't get a chance to greet her.

I sat down before she got there and I was out. I felt someone staring at me. I don't understand the science. You ever. Sometimes you're asleep or not paying attention, you could feel someone staring at you.

And so I'm kind of asleep, and I can feel. And this is her eyes, and I turn, and she turns away, but I could tell she turned away, so I kind of nod back to sleep. I'm kind of, like, probably drooling. I'm in some deep rim. And so all of a sudden I can feel this laser.

And I turn, and she turns, but I'm quicker and she's slower. So I caught her a little bit. So this time I'm asleep, and I turn, I look right at her, and we caught eyes, and she says, who are you? What do you do? I would later find out she's a Wiccan.

Practicing. And she's professional. That's her profession, to go around casting spells and doing stuff for people and offering, you know, I don't know, some sort of counseling to folks. And she's staring at me, and she says, what do you do? Who are you?

And I says, my name is Sean Smith, and I'm a child of the most high God, right? Because I asked her what she did, and she says, I don't know, but there's something different about you. It is exactly what she did. She says, your aura is out of this world. I'm like, girlfriend, you don't know.

My aura is from another universe. My aura is eternal. This. This thing on me. And here was the thought, right?

Because we all. We all. This could be any. Any of us. She got a witness.

Before she got a witness.

I shared with her. She didn't come to Christ. But while I was sleep, something wouldn't let this woman go. That she had to stare at her brother sleeping, drooling, snoring. Who else knows what else was going on?

And it was the glow. And I said, lord, we got to have that glow. Okay, Miracle. Moses had the retro glow. And let me ask you a question.

How do you become a hotspot for the Holy Ghost that's both attractive to the world and palpable by others? Let me tell you real quickly, in the time we have left, we find this. Now, in Exodus 34. So Exodus 32, he goes up to the mountain, comes down, breaks the commandment, and now he's got to go get the commandments again because they're broken, right? The tablets are literally broken.

So two chapters later, Exodus 34, say 34, he goes back up on the mountain. Now notice, here's what the Lord says, Exodus 34, 2 and 3. The Lord said to Moses, so be ready in the morning and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai. Present yourself to me on the top of the mountain. So notice this.

Be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning, and present yourself to me on the top of the mountain. No man shall come with you. Let no man be seen throughout all the mountain. Let neither flocks nor. Nor human.

Her. Excuse me. Nor flocks, nor herds feed before that mountain. How do you become a hot spot? Number one, you got to make it.

Wait, let me. Let me stop. Well, yeah, number one, make it to the mountain. First of all, you got to have some mountaintops. Where's your mountaintop?

Do you have a daily place? Do you go and you can meet with God? You got to make it to the mountain. If you're going to have the glow and you're not making it to the mountain, let me tell you what. That's where glows are made.

That's where glows are sustained. That's where glows become transferable. That's where you behold. You got to have a mountain, a quiet time, a secret time, a prayer life, a hidden walk with God. Number two, mornings matter.

How many times do we say in the morning, God said, in the morning, come up to the mat. Come up to the mountain. Mornings matter. Say it with me. Mornings matter.

You may not get the bulk of your quiet time. The first thing in the morning, Maybe you're only able to get, I don't know, 15, 20 minutes or whatever. But let me tell you what, if you're gonna get a glow, you can't just pop up out of bed, jump in the shower, whiz into the car, drop your coffee and your Danish or whatever it is and go to work and not get time with God. There's God. Your mornings have got to matter.

You got to set your do north compass to go after God. If you're going to have a. How many of you want a spiritual glow? I mean really, I mean a next level glow. I'm telling you mornings twice.

He said, be ready in the morning. Come up to the mountain outside. Present yourself to me in the morning. And there's this morning thing that comes up and the other thing he says, no man shall come with you. I think as you get to the mountain.

And then you recognize mornings matter. You gotta come to the Lord alone. No apples, no androids, no audiences. Come on, somebody, you gotta get before the Lord. Come on, Sometimes, sometimes you gotta upload before you download.

Come on, somebody.

Sometimes you need to roll before the presence of God. Before you scroll on your smartphone. Come on, somebody. I'm trying to find anything. I'm trying to freestyle aisle right now.

Hey, you gotta make sure you're getting time with God, right? Scholars say it would have taken Moses from the foot of Mount Sinai to get to the top, that it would have taken him 1.5 to 2 hours. And if I can get someone to come to the keys or the worship team to come out says it would have taken them. The scholars say it would have taken 1.5 to 2 hours for Moses to get to the top of the mountain. And what does that say to us this morning?

Sometimes it takes an effort to break into the presence of God. But you got to be willing to pay that price. You want the glow, you got to pay the price. 1.5. Like, oh, man, you know, if it was like from here to that keys, you know, that's all it took to get to the mountain.

That's one thing. But you're saying it was going to be a two hour hike. They calculated the amount of miles and the average gate or step speed of a human being. And they said 1.5 to 2 hours. And I think, isn't that true?

Sometimes it takes an effort, right? Jacob didn't waltz with God. He wrestled with God. Because it is a faith walk, not a cakewalk. We need some people that got some spiritual grit.

We need where. Where my. Where My saints at that. Got some grit. I'm talking.

I'm not talking about all in your feelings. And little thing, you're offended, you're bouncing, you're leaving God. You didn't answer this prayer, so I'm not going to worship you fully this week. No, no, no. I'm telling you.

I'm talking about people that are going to change communities. They're going to flip regions for Jesus. People that are going to pass something in the area of a legacy down to their babies and their babies babies. I'm talking about somebody that's willing to pay a price. You can't allow culture to affect your pursuit.

Moses was surrounded by people of compromise, but there's got to be somebody who's going to go to the mountain and come back with a glow. Oh, all right, I'll close here. I close so much more, but I need to close. First time, Moses goes up on the mountain. He goes up On a mountain, Mount Sinai, meets with God.

40 days, gets 10 commandments, right? Exodus 32, Exodus 34. Same mountain, same God, same amount of time, same commandments. First time, he comes down with a gripe. I'll prove it to you.

It says in Exodus 32:19, when Moses approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, his anger burned. He threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to pieces. He was angry. He came down with a gripe. Second time.

That's Exodus 32. Second time, Moses comes off the mountain. Same mountain, same God, same amount of time, same commandments. He comes down with a aglow. Exodus 34.

We talked about his face shown. Same mountain, same God, same amount of time, same commandments. You. You come down the first time with a gripe. You come down second time with a glow.

The secret as to what changes your gripe to a glow is flooring me right now. And I close with this. Y' all ready? Oh, you're not ready. Six o' clock tonight.

I'll tear to you by your heads. Dominus. Almost. You are released. No, I'm kidding.

Okay, here we go. The difference is Exodus 33. I said Exodus 32. Exodus 34. Exodus 32.

Got a gripe. Exodus 34, got a glow. Exodus 33, Moses cries out to God. He says, lord, show me your glory. You want to know this ultimate secret to a glow?

You ready? Okay. I know you're ready. Somehow the thing that turns your gripe into a glow is a groan. We got to get our groan back.

The groan, it says, oh, God, I've got to meet with You Lord God, I've got to have you rub off on me. My job needs it, my school needs it, my family need it. I need it. That somehow. And in that groan we find out that when Exodus 34, when God shows up, it says God proclaimed his name to Moses.

He didn't say that in 32, his groan got a glory release that brought a glow. And when he brought the glow into the camp, we are talking about this man millenniums later. Because if you're going to turn your gripe and you go on Instagram, you go on any kind of social media, everybody got a gripe. But church, we got to turn our gripe into a glow. And it's because we got a groan.

That groan that just would not be silenced. It would not be refuted. Would you bow your heads right now? Isaiah 60, arise, shine, for your light has come, for the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For indeed darkness has covered the earth, deep darkness.

The people says, the Gentiles are coming to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising. And it's saying, Isaiah's prophesying that there's going to come an end time group of people, that a shine is going to be on these people. They're going to rise up. But it shines so strong, the Gentiles, that would be the unbelievers. Unbelievers would be drawn kings, those are the influencers, influence.

And unbelievers would be drawn to the brightness. And my question as we bow our heads is we've been given a great commission, right? Matthew 26, Mark 16, going to all the world preach the Gospel. We've been given a great commission. Isaiah 60 prophesies, there'll come a great attraction that Gentiles will be drawn, kings will be drawn to the brightness of your rising.

My question to you is what happens when you see the intersection of the Great Commission and the great attraction? And I tell you, historically, massive harvest. And that's exactly what we're seeing. Not just universities, not just with the Russell Brands, the Kent Von D's, the guy that sings this new worship thing with Brandon Lake and so many Rob Snyder, so many others in the Ohio State's, the University of North Carolinas, the, the schools where there's had prayer meetings and massive people in Florida and on and on. What is it?

It is a season where you got to get your glory.
