We're on day four of Summer Selah, and the question today is, why is having faith before the miracle so important? Faith is the ultimate eradicator of the natural. In order to have faith before the miracle, we have to get out of what we see and what we know and get into a posture of faith. This goes beyond what we see and what we know. Jesus wanted for his disciples to know the things of heaven.
It's important to have faith before the miracle happens because it's an invitation from Jesus. It's saying, will you put your faith in me before this happens? When Jesus asks us to have faith that miracles can happen, he's asking us to go deeper with him, to go beyond what we see, to go beyond the carnal and get into faith. When he wanted to make the things of the kingdom known to his disciples, he asked them to step out of what they saw and to have faith to receive the wisdom of heaven. We can't depend on what we see and know.
We have to have faith and listen out for what Jesus said says if we have faith in the miracle and the miracle alone, we're just looking for the miracle to be done and not looking at who's doing the miracle. Ultimately, Jesus is not looking for someone to be amazed or someone to be wooed by the miracle, but he's looking for someone to say, I want to go deeper with you. When Jesus sees faith, he moves. It's something that moves him. So when Peter walked on the water, it was his faith.
When the son was healed from afar, it was his Father's faith. When the woman stopped bleeding, it was the faith that was being responded to. So it's important to have faith before the miracle because it's saying to Jesus, I am putting my faith in you because it is you that I am focused on, not the miracle.
