My name is Craig Malz and it's a pleasure for me to be here to be able to share my heart with you all. I appreciate all you guys that came out. And just even Pastor Terry Albright and his wife was so blessed to me by walking in here today. I'm telling you, there are great wells here that's in this room. I don't have time to tell you everybody's name, but there's some great wells here and you need to meet them if you don't already know them because it'll help the Roto Rooter out of your.

You know what I'm saying? I'm telling you there's something about that. When praise is deeper than your regret, when praise is deeper than whatever that stuff is, it doesn't even matter. But praise would break it from the bottom out. You don't even know how deep your spirit really is.

It's really, really deep. It's really deep. You can't see the bottom of it. It's from the kingdom of God, it's from the Spirit, as God himself is deeper than our struggles. And when we're resting in that restless.

But when I'm restless, I'm not resting in him. Right? Amen. We're gonna have fun tonight. So I'm gonna, as Andrew was saying, I'm gonna try to cover the book of Psalms in 35 minutes.

So you say, wait a minute, there's 150 chapters. If you took one chapter a week, it would take three years. That's true. That's why I'm not gonna do that. I'm gonna do it a different way.

Okay, so I'm not gonna teach the Psalms, but I'm gonna teach the heart of psalms the best that I understand it right now. But how many 30 years from now, I'm gonna understand that more. Just as you are. The older that you are, the more you know about the faithfulness of God. Nothing.

No shade on 18 year olds. But you're 58. 68. 78, 88, 98. They know more about the faithfulness of God because they've walked in it.

Amen. And that's you if you keep walking in it. And that's what I plan to do. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna cover basically a specific pattern that's woven through psalms, which might be one of the reasons why you actually like psalms, but you just didn't know it at the time. Like once you see, if you see a picture, you just a picture.

But if you know it's a Finding Waldo book. What's that book the kids used to have? You Finding Waldo? If you realize that's what it is, then you actually see Waldo. Like when I.

When I bought a Volkswagen, I started seeing Volkswagens all the time. When I finally got my roof done, which I need a new roof, but my old roof, I got. When I got a roof done, I was like, all of a sudden became a other people's roofs auditor as a hobby, like, I started looking. I've never looked at roofs in my whole entire life until I had my roof. So I'm saying.

So I'm gonna show you a pattern today, okay? You might have seen it before, which is great. But guess what? It can change your life. Because once you see it, I'm praying that you will never unsee it.

Amen. So the Heart of Psalms. Not the Book of Psalms. We don't have time for that tonight. But we have the Heart of Psalms.

We can do that. And I've named this True Confessions. Along the path of resilience. And so, so often, we in life, we can face challenges that can shake us to our core. Have you been there before?

Okay. I mean, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, defeated, and lose hope when adversity strikes, especially when you're not expecting it. But it's important to remember that building resilience in our struggle can help us advance through whatever we have to deal with. There's resilience. This isn't the path of resistance.

It's the path of resilience. So you're like, well, what's resilience? Yeah, resilience was on my SAT in high school. I think I missed it, but I'm learning. So next slide here.

So what is resilience? Resilience is the ability to quickly recover, to spring back, to snap back. What do you want to say? But it's to quickly recover from setbacks, to quickly adapt to change, to navigate the challenges of life. To pivot.

Right. To pivot while trying to hang on with a positive attitude. Right. So that's part of. That's part of this.

My definition, but that's that ability to come back the comeback kid, you know? You know what I'm saying? So there's this snapback. We need to be able to snap back from our setback. Okay.

We could go to the house right now. You just take that. That'll preach for the rest of your life. Or we need. Lord, help me.

In fact, let's just do it right now. Lord, help me. To snap back from Any setbacks in Jesus name? All right? And so we're surrounded by examples of resilience everywhere you look.

This is the Volkswagen thing. Or if you get your roof done, you know, you start seeing everybody's roof. And so just from our backyard, okay, so where's my backyard again? Right? So I can say one word and you're gonna instantly know what I'm talking about.

And if I say the word crabgrass, okay, so crabgrass. How many have tried not to curse crabgrass? So I've been at my house for 18 years, and I still have crabgrass, like, popping through the pavement. Like, what is up with this stuff? You know?

And worse than that is our brothers who have kudzu problems. That's a whole nother level. I'm just grateful to have crabgrass to fight, but I've never actually been inspired by crabgrass. Is anybody inspired by crabgrass ever? Nobody, so.

But tonight you are. Because it's that tenacity, it's that resilience that just keeps coming back. When you mow it, you burn it, you put Roundup on it, and then you pull the roots out, and guess what? It's coming back again. You're like, come on.

Every spring, you have to pay some guy to spray your yard, to hit it hard before it comes out of its germination. I mean. I mean, before it wakes up, you gotta kill it again. That's resilient, guy. That's resilient.

You know, so I've never had a nickname, so I don't think Craig Crabgrass Malls would be. It's too hard to say. You can't say it fast three times. But I wanna do that. I wanna be that I wanna be.

We'll think of a better one before tonight's over with. But think about that bamboo. We used to have bamboo in my house when he grew up. And that's constantly going. The wind can go.

It's never going to break. Guys use it for fishing poles back in the day. There's that resilience. You've got oak trees, redwood trees, right? All kinds of trees that when a forest burns down in Colorado, everybody's like, oh, no, the forest burns down.

But if you're from Colorado, it's just going to grow back stronger than it did before. Because the root system that's under the surface, under the ash, under the total destruction, under the total annihilation of the fire, is a root structure that's deeper. Come on. You've got that root structure in the Holy Ghost. You've got A resiliency in you that you don't even know how deep it really goes.

You know, why you haven't lived long enough. And I hope to know more about it next year and ten years from now. Amen. But you know, I could go on grass, dandelions, clover, all the stuff we try to kill. All the weeds.

All the weeds, right, we're trying to kill, they're so resilient. Why is the stuff we're trying to grow sometimes not as resilient, but anyway, I mean, how about cactus? You can regenerate a cactus by breaking a piece off and putting it into the ground. That's like you get your arm severed and you put it in the ground and it grows a body. I mean, think about that.

We know this stuff and we don't. Think about the resilience. I want you to see resiliency and never unsee it, because it's all over creation. You think sunsets and sunrises are awesome. They are.

But guess what? The resiliency of all creation is incredible. Have you seen been in deserts before? It's so desert. Like there's nothing that can grow out in the Midwest, Utah, I've been there all those places.

And it's like when it rains, all of a sudden all this vegetation's coming. Where's this stuff coming from? It's resilient. And again, the picture is there's a resiliency in the spirit of God that I can draw on. Amen.

You think about starfish. You can cut starfish arm off and it grows back. And lizards and salamanders, you can cut the tail off. I mean, that's crazy, right? Deer antlers.

Every year, all the antlers that you see, they annually shed those and start over. How many did not know that? You see this big rack of. That just happened this year and they start over. I mean, there's resiliency all over the place.

Even our body, our skin heals. How many times have we been cut? Some of you have scars. It may scar, it may not, but it's cut because what, both times the skin again, you know, all these things, muscles tear microscopically when you work out. I don't know much about that.

Recently I'm learning to go back to that. Hair grows back in all the places you don't want it, you know, so move on. But so. And also, just in case anybody asks, no, I did not color my hair. I don't know why people keep singing that just the way that I am.

So I don't know. People are like, why do you do that? I don't spend any money on coloring my hair, but even products around our house, right? Think about a rubber band on your wrist. If you.

You pull it out, what's going to happen? You're already feeling the pain of the snap when that thing snaps back. That's elastic. That's resilience, right? We could go on Velcro.

It's usually tape. You know, if you untape it and tape it and like the little stickers on your license plate, you do it too many times, like, this thing is going to fall off. Not Velcro. So, again, I know this is way too many examples. Memory foam, right?

Inflatable balls. I mean, you have to name all the balls. Now, what about Superball? That was my favorite one. Remember the Super Ball and people like, if you accidentally knock your glass off and it breaks, you get in trouble, get a spanking at home.

But if you have a Super Ball, we used to be like. And we would jump as high as we could, being four and a half feet tall, and we would pound that ball on the surface. This is before we had screens, right? We had to do something with your time. And that ball would just go higher.

The harder you pound it, the higher it goes. Resilience, right? So all that stuff is all awesome. But guess what? The ultimate heavyweight champion of the world in resilience is God himself.

He's outside of time. Everything that we're talking about is temporary. Everything's temporary. Your problem's temporary. Everything's temporary.

Not God and not his word and not his character. He is the same yesterday, today, forever. Resilient. He's everlasting. He is the everlasting God.

I don't care what's on your boxing gloves. It doesn't compare. It's not ever. He is the everlasting God. I'm not.

You're not. He is. Amen. There's three points here. I want to throw up here and up.

Not throw up, you know what I'm saying? But throw up here. So grammar matters, okay? So here's your three points. I did that for Andrew.

So here's my three points in case you fall asleep. You got all three points. If you sleep to the other ones, it doesn't matter. Okay? But number one.

Amen. Jesus, pull with me. Jesus is the ultimate example in this life of resilience. He is. Is he living in you?

Then you have the ultimate resilience in you that you may or may not be drawing upon. Right? Number two, there's a Resiliency available in the spirit of God that we can rely on in our distress. And number three, we're gonna take these individually. Earnestly walking and talking with God through the adversities and difficulties builds his resilience in us as we grow in our understanding.

That is the big word and trust in him. Amen. So taking those one at a time. Jesus is the ultimate example, right? The blind.

It's John the Baptist. He's getting ready to be beheaded. And he tells his disciples to go talk to Jesus. Say, just checking. I'm getting ready to lose my head here.

Are you the one? I just want to make sure you're the one. And he says, tell them that the blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor. Jesus could have just said, yes, I'm the one. But he said this.

Why did he say that? Because this is the prophecy of the Messiah. He's quoting the word of God for the Messiah to say it's that he could say, yes, but he's telling John the Baptist, you are not wrong in who I am. And it's interesting. He lost his head, right?

You know why? Because he's not the head. Jesus is the head. We all need to lose our heads sometimes in a good way. We've lost it in the bad way too many times.

Christ died for our sins according to scriptures that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to scripture. He's so resilient. It's not just helping other people. He actually came back to. Right.

Number two is there's a resiliency available in the spirit of God that we can rely on in our distress. One of my favorite scriptures. And if the spirit of him. You can say it with me if you want. Who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you.

He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his spirit who lives in you. Come on, can we just say it one more time? If the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his spirit through who lives in you. That's the ultimate bumper sticker for our heart, man. Does the spirit of God live on the inside of us or not?

Yes. Then, Lord, making quick alive my body. Amen. Right now, we just pray. Right now where two or three are gathered together and you are in the midst.

And we just pray right now, for anybody who has any physical ailment right now that they're dealing with. And we just thank you in one heart right now. One heart. One heart in the unity, Lord, in you, that only you can create. We pray right now for divine healing from the top of their heads to the soles of their feet.

That every cell right now would be so saturated with the presence of God that it would drive out anything and everything that's hindering them from being able to do all God that you're calling them to do in Jesus name. That's coming from a deep place. It's coming from a deep place. It's the spirit of God. Amen.

It's not by might, not by power. It's by my spirit. And number three, earnestly walking. This is where we're going to focus tonight. Earnestly walking and talking with God through adversities and difficulties will build his resilience in us as we grow in our understanding and trust in him.

First, John says, who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the son of God? For with the heart, you believe and you're justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved. These two are where we're gonna be talking about a lot tonight. So resilient might as well be said of you if you're his child.

That lawnmower, it's got two gas tanks. Every time I mow the grass, I love mowing the grass. I got two gas tanks. So if I'm running low on one, I really hope there's gas in the other. So sometimes there's not, but I have an extra gas tank.

If I keep that one full, I don't need to worry about the first one. Do you know that you have two gas tanks? You have everything that you can do. You have your own willpower. You have your own everything, your own patience, your own love, your own all that stuff.

And you have another tank which is coming from the fruit of the spirit, which is unlimited peace. It's peace on tap. Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness. The fruit of the spirit. We can tap the other gas tank from our spirit and we can draw off of that when we've run out.

You run out of patience with other people, draw on the long. We have long suffering. What's that mean? That means like a long fuse. Like, you know, the.

Was it the roadrunner? You know, the long. He liked to fuse and go forever, you know? So how about being long fused? Okay, we need to be longer fused with Our kids, okay?

And your spouse and whoever else. But the point is, he can give you a longer fuse than you have yourself.

If that same spirit dwells in you, it'll quick and make alive your mortal body. Amen. So resilient might as well be said of you if you're his child. So become more resilient in God. We have to stay on the path of resilience.

And so that's not the path of resistance. You might have thought that's what it said the first time you read it. It's not the least path of resistance, it's the path of resilience. And when we stay on that path with the Lord, his resilience can make an impact on our lives. Right?

It's a few biblical examples. And you're like, man, how many examples? I get it, okay? But I'm trying to make sure you never forget this, okay? You're gonna forget your Social Security number before you forget this.

Tonight, in Jesus name, Job lost everything. Job lost absolutely everything. And guess what? He got it back. The resilience there.

Have you seen my servant Job? Yeah, that's just cause you blessed him. I don't know about that. It might not be Joseph betrayed, sold as a slave, imprisoned, goes from the prison to the palace. I mean, this is the comeback kid.

These are comeback kids, right? David failed morally in his later life, right? We all want to be like David in his younger life. We don't want to be David like the way he parented, right? So we just.

He's not. He's an imperfect guy like the rest of us. But. But he was restored. Peter denied Jesus three times and became foundation leader of the church.

Jonah ran from God. That was the path of resistance. And Jesus got, got a go, got ahold of him and gave a second chance. And the whole city repented. Paul the Apostle, he's the Hitler of his time basically of his generation.

And God changes him around and he becomes a missionary like no other. Even speaking to us these days in the scriptures that he wrote. Okay, so one more time, what is resilience? Right? It's the capacity to quickly recover.

And you're like, man, this is a long. I'm telling you, once you get this, you'll never get it. I pray you never forget it. Because that helps us to bounce back after we're hit with difficulties. It's that bounce back part.

To carry on, even flourish after devastating setbacks. To maintain emotional well being when all is not well, to successfully adapt and pivot in the face of adversity. We need the resilience of God in our lives. Amen.

So again, the title tonight is the Heart of Psalms, True Confessions along the Path of Resilience. All right, now, with that, we're not talking about the path of resistance, but of resilience, okay? And what that part of that is, is earnestly walking and talking with God through adversity and difficulties. That's where it's coming from. And all of us, myself included, we're all at one time, and maybe some parts of us now, where we're still on the path of resisting God.

We're putting things in between us and God. It could be something that happens in a church, even. I just talked to somebody today, and they're in one church, and the whole thing fell apart. Terrible situation. Went to a second church, the same thing.

So they're, like, trying to find a church. I was like, third time's a charm. Jesus name. I mean, and I knew about. You know, I was empathetic.

I was empathetic. But I'm just saying that's real. There's two people I met, and they both had two up, two down, batting zero, okay? And they're doing all this stuff, but there's still a remnant. There's still healthy churches.

There's a great place, you know, And I'm so glad to be a part of it here. It's not perfect like Pastor Jay says. But the thing is, what's good about is both of them were not allowing those things to get in the way of them following the Lord. They really needed to get plugged in. They wanted to get plugged into a church.

And they were asking God where. And so they weren't letting those things become an excuse so they could say, well, I don't need to have organized religion. You know, some people say, I hate organized religion. And I say, becky, I said, that's. I agree.

Cause I mean, disorganized religion, that's where it's at. So that's even this way. So the key is we have to walk and talk with God. We gotta keep that. Not like Adam and Eve hiding behind a tree.

He says, where are you, Adam? It's not because God lost his one man, right? He knows where Adam is. He had one job. He had one man.

You lost him. No, I know where you are. Do you know where you are? I'm hiding behind a tree. Why are you doing that?

Are we hiding behind any trees tonight? Before the Lord, just step out. Step out right now in Jesus name and say, I am not going to hide. I'm not going to hide. I'm not going to hide behind whatever that you fill in the blank.

I'm not hiding behind anything tonight. Amen. I'm going to allow. I'm not having anything hinder my. My ability to properly embrace you, Lord.

And so it's that constant dialogue that's amazing. And so with that, you know, first you have to acknowledge the current situation where you're in. You can acknowledge that it's okay. You're just acknowledging it. And you can acknowledge it before the Lord, which is not the same as you having this offline conversation in your head about whatever that is.

I can't believe he said, she said. Does the boss even know how many years I've worked here? All that stuff can be an offline conversation in our head that we're having with ourselves. Stop that. That can actually plug the well.

Okay? Right. It can. So we need the spirit of the Lord to just bust from the bottom out. From the bottom out.

Just bust that junk out. And we're supposed to cast our anxieties and cares on him because he cares for us. Right? Isaiah 1, I love it, says, come now and let us reason together. Isaiah chapter one, Go, mark that down.

Memorize that God said, come with us. Come with me. Let's reason this together. Whatever that conversation you have offline in your head, start having it with the Lord. Well, I had it before.

It needs to be a dialogue now, not a monologue. It needs to be a dialogue which is allowing him to speak. And that's another thing, is if you have to have a monologue when you pray, that can cap the well, that can stop the resilience because you're resisting what he's saying. I don't want to hear what he's saying. I don't see.

Right there. That's a resistance. You're on the path of resistance. And tonight we're talking about the path of resilience. Well, I want resilience.

Then stop resisting, because the resilient one dwells in you if the same spirit does.

Amen. We can't control what happens to us, but we can control our responses. We know that. We tell our kids that and all that. Well, let's choose to dialogue, not monologue, with God through every step.

And this path is like a cycle. And we're gonna show you in a minute. And with this, that path, when you stay on that path, it's starting to build that resilience, his resilience in you. And. But it's through authentic Dialogue.

And that's the whole heart of Psalms, if you're thinking about. I thought we were talking about Psalms tonight. That's the whole book is authentic True Confessions, you know, trying to get something. Get you to come here. So we had to have a title here.

But I'm so. I'm kidding. We didn't tell that anybody the title. But the point is, is like, if I said True Confessions twice, the people would be here, like, what's it going to be confessed? Okay, we're going to confess the Lord Jesus.

Thanks for coming. Amen. So, Pastor, probably if you saw him on Sunday, if not, watch online. But he preached a masterful message on Ecclesiastes. Right?

Come on, I'm telling you. And here's the thing. He said, it's a journal of a guy who at the end of his life, looks back on his life, and it's a journal of basically his perspective of that. And he comes down to the end, you know, what really matters. What matters is reverencing God, fearing God and obeying his commandments.

I mean, just doing what he said. Walking with God. Yeah, that's the same thing. So you're reverencing him and you're walking with. You're not holding something up higher.

We're supposed to cast down imaginations, everything, every high thing that exalts itself against above, the knowledge of God. We need to drive over that stuff. My grandfather was a missionary in India, and he picked up my dad when he was a little boy. He was at the boarding school and he was coming down this mountain road, this dirt road. And so this is one of my favorite stories my dad used to tell.

And as you're coming down, there was like a cobra was up in the road and it was like this, you know. And so, you know, my dad being the little boy was like, oh, my gosh. And so instead of driving and driving away from it, my. My grandfather drove towards it. He tried to hit it, and he's like, let's see if we hit it or not.

And my dad's like, why are we going back? Okay, so he's turning this car around, which you think this is the 50s. So like a big fat 50s car on a dirt road with a cliff, you know, like, who cares about the snake? Let's just go on. Anyways, it's the middle of the night.

He turns around, comes back up, headlights in, still there. I didn't hit it. She's trying to hit it. He had to do that several times before he hit it. And he finally hit it, knocked it out.

And Dad's like, why did we do that? And my grandfather says, it's gonna be light soon and there's gonna be people walking down the mountain here to go to work in the town. And we don't want anybody to get bit.

That's a super cool story. As a boy to hear, when I heard, I was like, man, you know, you don't have that stuff in Mooresville, you know? And so thank the Lord. And so. But, man, when I read that scripture that says that we need to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.

Sometimes you gotta do it two or three times, Casey. Right. Or more or two or three times a day. You say, how you doing with forgiving? So and so I'm doing better.

I only have to forgive them twice a day now. Okay, it was three times last week. That's progress. We count that as progress. See, there's that resilience that's coming in because you're continuing to do it as many times as you need to do it.

There's no shame in having to do it again. Amen. And so that's what the whole book of Psalms is about. And so just a quick, very 30 second commercial on Psalms, of course, right? It's been around for thousands, not hundreds, thousands of years.

And it's been a source of wisdom and inspiration right to generation after generation. Then there's polls out. What's your favorite book? Psalms is right there towards the top every single time. And it's one of the most respected books.

Just the poetry of how it's put together is phenomenal. Forget the content for a second. The way that it's structured is absolutely unbelievable. Go read about it. I'm not gonna take time for that.

But it gives us insight into how other people pursued God on this path of resilience. It's their dialogue. It's the director's cut. Have you seen a movie with the director's cut? With Steven Spielberg, it's the movie.

But he's like, see, what I was trying to do here was I was trying to do this, but that was too expensive. So what I did say, you're getting all that back stuff to the story. So how valuable is that? If you're a movie maker, you're like, no, that's. That's really interesting.

This is the backstory, this is the director's cut of David. We hear the story. He sins with Bathsheba, right? His son dies and all this stuff and he's just torn apart. We read that.

But then Psalms in 51, it says, create in me a clean heart, oh God. Renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, oh Lord. Right? Wow.

What's that come from? That comes from the bitterness of all this mess his heart. That's why he's a man after God's own heart, because he's staying on the path of resilience. Psalm 51. See, if you don't know the stories and you're just reading it, if this is your first time, you've ever read Psalms before, and if you thumb in the middle and just open up, it'll say, how long do I have to wait on you, God, my bed is soaked with tears.

How long? I mean, how long? Come on, how long? How long? Are we there yet?

Are we there yet? And you can come over here and it's like, praise ye the Lord. It's a whole chapter on Praise ye the Lord. There's another whole chapter about his loving kindness is better than life and this endures forever. Like, who wrote this book?

I mean, it's so schizophrenic. It's all over the place, Right? Have you ever thought about that? If you get into one of the crazy parts, like, just keep reading, you know, and so it's crazy. So you're talking about, you know, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, like, oh, you're in the shadow of death, you know, keep walking.

Don't stop there. Keep walking. Just keep reading. And all of a sudden it comes around. Have you ever noticed where it sort of comes around?

Have you noticed that before? How many have actually thought about that before? Like, it's like. Right. And so with that, that's what's amazing about it.

That's the pattern we're going to unlock in just a second. Okay? But with that, some people think, David, since we're talking about Psalms, this is the message on Psalms for the whole year for our Old Testament review here. So we realized we don't actually. We're not actually preaching on psalms.

We're pulling those pieces out. So this is it. So if you don't come, if you didn't come tonight, they're going to say, why didn't they ever talk about psalms? Well, you missed it, you know, so don't say that like that. So the thing is, so up to 10 authors, they think wrote Psalms.

David wrote over 50%. They think there's some psalms that are orphan psalms. How about that? Is this Psalm about orphans? No, it's the ones we don't know who wrote it all.

So we have orphan psalms. So there's all kinds of people. Abraham. All kinds of people. Abraham wrote psalms?

Yeah. I mean, all these people. And so with that, the most important isn't who wrote it, it's why was it written.

And that's what I'm trying to bust at the seams to get to tell you in just a second. Why is probably a more helpful question than authorship. Because what it is, it's not an unbeliever. No unbelievers are writing that stuff. These are honest believers who are earnestly trying to walk with God in the midst of crazy difficulty.

And sometimes they're on the top of the mountain, sometimes they're in the miry clay, and sometimes they're being pulled out of the miry clay. Right.

The heart of the writer is the same. That's why we're talking about the heart of psalms.

And it's even better that it's multiple people than if it's just one person, because it's the same heart, different faces, same heart, different things those people are facing.

So there's a pattern, a cycle, if you will, that leads to transformation. Right? And so let's talk about patterns for just a second. And you're like, man, this is the longest sales pitch for this book. Right.

Cause it's honestly gonna get. I'm just gonna tell you the pattern in a minute. But when you see it after what I'm doing, my hope is that you're going, this is like sweet iced tea, white shoe polish. This is awesome. Okay?

And so think about patterns. How many guys have seen the Odyssey? All these dumb jokes are for Andrew, by the way. So Pastor Andrew. Sorry.

So even though if you come, Pastor, it doesn't ruin your sense of humor, Andrew has proved that. So have you seen the Odyssey? Anybody? Okay, somebody. So it's a big movie.

You're trying to do it. They're sold out all the time. The original story was written 3,000 years ago, and before that, it was oral tradition. So it was like a oral story for a long time. In fact, people were really mad that you even wrote it down, because it's not supposed to be written down, and people would memorize.

So this is a very old story. And you can't get a ticket these days because every ticket's sold out. This is an old story. Okay? But there's a pattern to that.

And if you think about the Greek stories in General, there's about 16 to 20 different patterns that you can classify all of everything into these patterns. And what they did back then is they started writing according to the pattern. They sort of understood the pattern, and then they're gonna follow the pattern. And you go up through history and you've got, you know, Shakespeare and all that. It keeps on going.

Same thing, all the Shakespeare, all that stuff. You can say, which Greek pattern is this one? Because they did the same thing. I mean, in all the blockbuster movies. I would say all.

But I mean, a lot of the blockbuster movies that we've seen our whole entire lives follow these patterns, which is interesting. So just two or three here real quick. But just for example, what are you talking about? Okay, so one pattern is where this older, irritable person that's terrible to deal with has some crazy overnight experience of some phenomenon that you can't explain, and the next day they're a good person. Like, how do they become a better person overnight?

I mean, yesterday they were terrible. How did that happen? Can anybody think of a movie that matches that? What, Scrooge, right? A Christmas Carol or Groundhog's Day or.

I keep going, right? I mean, Groundhog's Day is a completely different movie, right? Or is it not? You see the pattern. The pattern is the same.

So when you see the pattern, it can be totally different circumstances. And you're like, I see the pattern. And how many know that? It says in the Bible, we need to build according to the pattern. This is in Exodus, I think it was.

Build according to the pattern that I'm giving you, okay? And so with this, there's other. There's other ones. That's one, right? Another one is known as the Hero's Journey.

It's probably the most popular. And this is where a young guy or girl is like, it's got destiny on them. They're going to be supposed to be a hero. They don't know they're a hero. Then they know about.

Then they think it's sort of cool. Then they face like, what do you actually have to face being the hero? Well, the dragon. I don't want to face a dragon. So then they shrink back.

They don't want to be the hero. Then they meet the princess, and they're like, well, I'm willing to face the dragon for the princess.

Now, Star wars is exactly the same, except the dragon is a Death Star in Darth Vader. But it's the same story, right? You see that? It's the same thing, right? Lion King, Okay.

I go on like, it's the same. What's Lion? It's the same pattern. You get me? Right?

Another pattern. I feel a little more. Because when you're young, you're like, am I Luke Skywalker? Am I Princess Leia? You know, or whatever.

And so you're trying to say, am I C3PO? That's what I was saying. So. But anyway, so that was for my wife. Okay, so.

But she married C3PO. So here's the thing, though. Another pattern. Last one. And then we get to Psalms.

Seriously, the last one is where somebody. Do you least suspect? Older person, normal person. But stuff happens, and they're like, oh, no. Okay.

Heck to the no. They would say, if you're not in church, you don't say that in church. But. But they're like, no, no, no, no, no, no. And so they've got to go back to this previous life that they've let behind, and they're going to bring out the.

Whatever that's going to need to be able to face this. No, we're not. No, no, no, no. Right. Does anybody think of a movie like that?

Anybody? The Patriots won, right? His dad's a farmer. Russ Gibson is just a farmer. Pacifist.

We don't need to fight until his son dies. And he's like, okay, you killed my son. And he pulls the chest from underneath the bed and he gets the pistol out, and they're like. Then he's gonna go, right, right. What's that?

Braveheart. Braveheart's the same movie, right? Same movie. And so that other stuff. What?

What? Taken. Okay. That's awesome, right? You take this guy's daughter, and what does he say?

We can all quote it and the hair will stand on the back of your neck. It's like, I have a certain set of skills that with these skills, it will help me to find you. And say it with me. And when I find you, I will kill you. Good luck.

Wow. But that's the same pattern. And as you're older, you're hoping, like, am I Neeson in this? You know what I'm saying? I just don't want my daughter to get.

I might be. Don't mess with my daughter. Okay? So the thing is, you've got that even in music, is the blues. Anybody love the blues?

I play a lot of different kinds of music, you know, with my stuff. I do. But. But, like, the easiest form is the blues. Like, why do people like the blues?

It's so easy. But you know why? I figured out why? Because by the ninth measure, the same fifth Chord usually pops in. It's the same thing.

If you listen to bluegrass or blues, you're like, this sort of all sounds the same. Because it sort of does. There's a couple variations, but when you know the pattern, you can just jump in and play the blues. And everybody's like, this is cool. Because even if you're casually listening, you expect the chord to change.

Yes, that's the chord I thought was gonna happen, and it's gonna go back to the one you may say, I don't have anything to do with. Show melt. It doesn't matter if you knew the pattern. You play blues, okay? So there's this.

But, see, it's all over the place. All right, So I wanna. Now, without further ado, I wanna talk about the cycle. Actually, as part of this path, there's a cycle in psalms that some of you guys have seen. Go ahead and.

Okay, here we go. And so with this, I'm passing out this slide and the next one are hard to read. So I got two people that's gonna be passing these out or more. Let me know if you need more. Okay?

But let's talk about this. This is the cycle. In the path of resilience. I had scared. It said resistance there.

But in the path of resilience, you guys will get a paper with this on here. I know you're squinting here. So with this, it sort of works like this. Okay? Watch this.

First off, you got a basic understanding. You're sort of all of us tonight. You got a basic understanding of God, basic orientation. You sort of understand how God is and who you are to God. And you might know Christ in you, the hope of glory.

You have some concept of that, some level. Okay? That's number one. And then all of a sudden, something happens, right? Something happens and you get knocked out of whack.

You're all of a sudden, you're disoriented. Your understanding is like, I thought this was gonna happen. How could this happen? Has something happened to you that you go, I don't know how that could happen. If God is good, how in the world could that happen?

I mean, talk about you guys. I've felt it. I know you felt it. Those types of things before. You're like, this should not have happened, okay?

We get disoriented, we get shell shocked. My understanding of God is challenged. How many people have had, to be honest, have had their understanding of God challenged by the circumstances of your life? That's real. What do you need?

Resilience. Keep reading. Right? So guess what? You bring your confusion to God.

You start lamenting. You say, I don't know. I don't know what's going on here, but. But the dialogue is happening. That's important.

Not in the same monologue, but the dialogue is happening. And so with that, as you bring. As you lament, you bring that confusion to God. Then you come up with a new revelation. God reveals something new about him that you found out about, you learned about, and it's changed you forever.

I had two of my best friends in college get killed in a car accident. And so the. Right before we heard a sermon, and this guy was preaching and he got off on a rabbit trail, had nothing to do with the sermon. And he was talking about the God who is the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all of our distress to the point that we can comfort others with the same comfort. And he got on that, and it was like, wow, that's powerful.

And he goes back to whatever his message is, and he says, sorry for the rabbit trail. And then as we're driving, my two friends are getting killed in their city. So when my dad calls me and tells me this, you don't know what to say. It's like a bullet went through you and out the other side. And you're just like, what?

Brian and Denise, I can't even speak. And my friend and I, who were riding together in the car, who heard this, we look at each other, and we had the same thought. We had the same thought, and we dug out our Bibles. And I knew what he was looking up. I knew what he was looking up.

I knew he was looking at. What was it? First Corinthians. What was it? We weren't saying?

We could not respond because of the shock and the pain. And we opened it up and we broke the silence, saying, I bless our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all of our distress so that we can comfort others who are in any trouble. And I'm telling you, at that point, that revelation changed me. And all of a sudden, I can administer the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

There's a lot of stuff I can't do, but I can bring the peace of God and the comfort of the Holy Spirit. Not me, but I've got a well that's been uncapped because of my two friends.

Now, you add whatever calamity, whatever situation in your life and recognize that from the bottom up, the spirit of God can pour through you and the things that's the weakest, the worst thing in your life. You can actually be known for those things because of this. So I bring my confusion to God. God reveals himself more fully as a new revelation. Now I'm in a new understanding of God, a new orientation that's better than before.

I see a bigger God. I see that reality now. My dad used to preach, how big is God? I'd say, how big is your God? That was a great sermon.

How big is your God? Not how big is God, but how big is your God? The same thing. And how do you respond? You respond in worship, you respond in praise, in gratefulness.

And with that, transformation happens. And your faith, hope, fear, love, all deepening through that experience.

And don't read the last line.

Next challenge. My dad used to say, your life is sort of like blessing, battle. Blessing, battle, Blessing, battle. And if you're in a blessing stage, if you're in a place of blessing, be careful, because some of the blessing might be needed for the battle. Hey, let's go buy a boat.

Your transmission's gonna fall out of your truck. T minus 2,000 miles. You know what I'm saying? Ask the Lord if you need to buy a boat. So with this, you see this?

Now think about this. This is a cycle, and it goes around and around. Now think about psalms. And if you open up in the middle and it's like, God, where are you at? Where are they at?

Here.

This is the skeleton key that unlocks Psalms. And once you see this, I want you to memorize it. Then when you go read Psalms, and I want you to read psalms like you've never read psalms before. When you do, you're gonna see this everywhere. You're gonna see Volkswagens everywhere.

You know what I'm saying? You're gonna see the resilience. You're gonna see somebody that's staying on the path of resilience. And they're keeping this dialogue open, and they're declaring what they need to declare. They're being honest, but they're also listening, and they're being changed by that.

Now, if that's not enough, the problem is this is what the steps are. Does this help anybody tonight?

The thing with this is it's not level. It's sort of more like this next slide.

This is sort of what it was like, okay? And so right now, you might be at the top. Remember Old Thunder Road? If you remember that, you have to be a certain age to remember that, Carowinds. But at the very top, you might be at the top.

You had A great day. Andrew was like, you might have had the worst day of your life or something in between. So you could be at the bottom. You could be in free fall right now. I don't even tell you why.

My wife, what we're having going through. But it's not even the start anyways. We're in a middle free fall in this situation that we're going to have to deal with, and we'll deal with it and it'll be fine. But it's, like, so crazy. How could this possibly happen?

You might be at the bottom. You might be in the long tunnel where it's dark. And the only thing that seems like the right thing to do is scream like everybody else is. Right. Where are you at on the ride?

Normally we just get in where the roller coaster, where the safety, the station, they call it. What if you could get in at the top, at the bottom, in the middle, in the, you know, corkscrew or whatever. That's life. But that's the Psalms.

And as you read the psalms, you'll see the roller coaster. You'll see. Oh, that's a corkscrew. I can't believe that happened. Well, I didn't see that turn coming.

It's like, what's the ride in Disney? The something mountain.

Space Mountain. Right. It's a roller coaster in the dark, so you can't see what's happening. How many have ridden that in your life? You don't have to go to Disney.

I've been in that. Right. Anyway, and so with that, it feels more like a roller coaster. And so it's not quite like just a roller coaster. Okay.

Because the thing is, like, wherever you are. Well, let's throw the next slide in here. So I don't want to ruin anybody's day, but this is the S and P today.

Anybody in the S and P. This is the S and P today. Now, how bad does this look? It looks pretty bad. Right. Okay.

It's sort of like this. You see the roller coaster there, and you're like, this is the worst day of my life. Really. You've really had some bad days. And get used to it.

You might have worse ones next week, month, year, decade. Right. So here's it. This is the S and P as of today. It really is.

Actually is. But look at it over 10 years. Next slide. Where's that dip? Where's the dip?

Go back to the Proverbs. Go back to today. This is how you feel, but in the whole extent of your whole life. Next slide. This is where you are, man.

God pulled me out of the miry clay. I might be dropping, but I'm not back in the miry clay anymore. Or maybe I am, but I know I can get out of it because the Lord brought me out before and he's gonna bring me out again. Go back to the other slide if you're there. I'm telling you.

Hang on, keep reading. If you're in the Psalms and you read that part, keep reading. Don't stop in the valley of the shadow of death. Keep going. Because what's actually happening is you're maturing in Christ.

This resiliency I'm talking about is his resiliency is coming. So it looks like this. This is actually your life. And you're like, I don't know if I'm ever gonna hear, well done, good, my faithful servant. Do you know what I've done?

But this is actually your life. So, yeah, it's up and down, but it's not up and down this way. It's up and down this way. As we're growing in the Lord, I want you to walk out of here so incredibly encouraged, because this is you, not this. Go back one more time.

This is the way you feel walking in next. This is what's really happening in your life. Just hang on. Just say, lord, I gotta keep this dialogue going. And I don't care how many times.

I don't care how many times. It doesn't matter, because when this stops, you're dead. So whatever it is, okay? So, all right. But this is 10 years now.

You look over here, 20. 20. You can sort of see if you were alive back then. I felt some of those dips, and they seem worse than that looks. Some people jumped out of high rises on some of those dips.

I watched the news and saw them. Some of them jumped out of high rises because of some of those dips, because they were looking at. Flip it back. I'm making sure whoever's doing the slides is not on their phone. So, bye.

There you go. Just kidding. Emmy, we love you. And so some people are like, I don't know where to go. Look at the end there.

I mean, I'm done. Why am I even living?

I take authority over the spirit of suicide right now. In the name of Jesus.

And just as a placeholder, as a point of contact, I mean, get ready. When she flips this slide, I want you to say amen with as much as. Even though I haven't dealt with it, you may deal with it. There's no Shame in that, because you have an enemy who's trying to steal, kill, and destroy. And we come against that in the name of Jesus.

And this might be what you feel like right now, but when she flips that, I want us to say amen. Are you ready? Because we're gonna declare the amen. So be it. Amen means so be it.

That this is not your life. Ready, Amy, whenever you're ready. Amen. So be it. In Jesus name, this is your life.

Amen. You can clap. Amen. All right, next slide. So we're actually gonna get into this now.

You're like, finally, we're getting into the Psalms. Okay? So now watch this. But see, if you didn't. If you didn't.

If we didn't spend. In my mind, I may be wrong, but if we didn't spend so much time doing this, you wouldn't be able to see the pattern. So let's see if you can see the pattern. You may not be able to read this, but I'll read it to you. Psalm 3.

And you can pick all kinds of psalms. Just picked one at random. O Lord, how my foes have increased. How many rise up against me? Some people think it's like thousands.

Many say of me, God will not deliver him. See, if you just open. Read that. You're like, why would I serve the Lord? That doesn't sound very good.

And there's that word Selah, which is like a pause. So you take a pause, a musical pause, like you would stop. Nobody claps because we're going to the next movement. If you've been in the classical thing, right? There's a pause here.

That cycle we just saw, that's on. That's a cycle we saw. As it's going through there, ticking through. Then it says, but you, O Lord, there's E there. There's a roller coaster.

See? See? He hit the bottom, he bottomed out, and it's come back up. But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory. The one who lifts my head.

You are the lifter of my head. Go back to verse two. Many say God will not deliver him. Go back to verse one. How my foes have increased.

Oh, my gosh. How many are rising against me? You see the roller coaster, Selah, and it bottoms out. But you, O Lord, our shield railway of my glory. Okay, same Psalm to the Lord.

I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy mountain. We're still riding. Okay, still going. Selah. Again.

I lay down and slept. And I awake again. For the Lord sustains me. We're riding. Amen.

We're riding. I will not fear the myriads set against me on every side. They're still set against them. You see that? But I'm not gonna fear it now.

I'm still dealing with it.

I will not fear the myriad set against me on every side. Every side. Not some sides, every side. But I'm not gonna fear resilience. That's God's resilience.

Every side just surrender. I'm not surrendering.

Verse 7. Arise, O Lord, save me. Oh, my God. Oh, my God is in the Bible. Did you know that?

Sorry, I'm making up jokes tonight. Strike all my fears on the jaw. Break the teeth of the wicked. Salvation belongs to the Lord. May your blessing be on your people.

Amen. That's just one of 150. But now, see, you're not just reading Psalm 3. Go back to the roller coaster real quick. I know you know it into it.

It's burned in your brain, but go back. Do you see? This is what we were seeing. But if you don't know that, you're like, this is so schizophrenic. Like, is he helping you?

Is he not helping you? But there's a pattern there. Keep reading. See the pattern? See the cycle of resilience?

All right, so with that, then what we wanna do is I want to just say that each of these psalms is sort of like. And in this case, it was like two or three times in Psalm 3. But each one's sort of like a heartbeat. Beep, beep, beep. You know, to see that the person's alive.

I'm still in it. Oh, I'm still facing it. But you, O Lord, are my strength. You are my shield. We gotta have that reflex.

I was gonna say reflex or reflux. Not reflux reflex for our reflux. But we need to have the reflex that we spring back. Do you see? In that one psalm, you see the snap back?

They're snapping back. Oh, my gosh. Everybody's saying, who's going to deliver me? But the Lord is that snapback part, that comeback. All right, keep going.

So with this, I've got a chart, which you should have. Does everybody have a copy of this? Anybody else need one? Do I make enough copies? We have.

How many? Andrew, do you have a copy? Does anybody who works here have a copy?

Yeah. Thanks, Abe. You know you can find. See, Abe can read my mind. How many?

I know it does not readable. So just. Can you read the top line? Put one hand over your eye. Okay, I'm sorry.

So anyway, well, I want you to study the resilience cycle in Psalms, Okay? And these are just a few. There's a lot more. So Psalm 3, we just went over, that's the first one. I did the first one for you.

The first one was a free space in bingo, right? I already gave it to you. But see, look at this. Here's the orientation. What the psalmist knows about God.

God protects his people. But there's this disorientation where thousands are surrounding David. Some translations say this, but many are saying God's not gonna help. He's crying that out to God. He's saying, God, they're saying, you're not gonna help me.

It's okay to say that. You're not having the conversation in your head. You're actually saying it to the Lord. And he responds and says, david sleeps peacefully. Verses five and six.

That's just part. He doesn't even do the whole thing. They don't do seven and eight. So, like, this isn't. This is not a complete thing.

This is just showing you this. Psalm 13. God hears prayer. That's what I thought. Disorientation.

Why is God not listening to me? He seems absent. We could go read that. But that's what he says. That's where it's like, how long do I have to wait on you?

Are you there? Hello, McFly. I mean, you don't say that about God, right? This is where he's getting upset about it, but he's saying it how long? Says it four times, but then he remembers God's steadfast love.

The steadfast love of the Lord never changes. And he says, my heart shall rejoice.

Amen.

Is this powerful? I want you to go read the Psalms. I know you're reading the other thing, but read Psalms too. But as part of that, see if you can see the roller coaster. And recognizing.

See, when you know the pattern. See, this is if you. They said steven Spielberg. I'm sorry, George Lucas, actually wrote the original Star wars based on the Hero's Journey, which is that Greek pattern. I just told you.

He actually says, I'm going to write it in this format. And he wrote the original Star wars episode four. Right. So with Luke Skywalker on, that's written based on that. So it was a choice of his.

He's like, I'm gonna write according to that pattern. What pattern are you gonna be writing the rest of your life with? Whatever you're going through right now, what do you want to be able to tell somebody five years from now that you did? If you're really going through some stuff tonight? Think about it.

It's 2026. Let's do four years for the sake of the math. Easy math. I just have a math minor. Anyway, so say 20, 30.

In four years, you're telling somebody the story of what you're going through right now. 20, 30. What do you want to tell whoever you're telling in four years of what you did now?

And you may say something like this that says, I want to say, Lord, I want, but my heart is trusting in you. Or I forgave them. I want to be able to tell my kids or grandkids that when I was going through that, I. What is it? What is it?

Do it.

I know it's strange. Somehow that works for me. I can't think of what to do right now, but, okay, two years from now or next year, what do I want to be able to tell people I'm doing well? I would like to be able. Then do that.

Craig. Craig. Crabgrass Malls. Don't ever call me that. You guys, you get demerit for that.

Amen.

This is powerful stuff, man, because this is life. It's so easy to come in and sing songs. And even the songs we sang tonight, thank God for our worship team. The songs are so. You didn't know this is what we're gonna be talking about.

And the songs were just so perfect in what we're talking do. Amen.

So going back, next slide here. Let's just finish up. I know we're out of time. Here's the cycle. You should have a copy of that.

If you don't, we'll get you a copy. Study this. There's other variations. They're not all the same. Some of these movies and Greek stories are a combination of the patterns.

But recognize that this is in general, the idea is that your understanding of God can be challenged. In fact, it probably will. But as you trust in the Lord and come with that dialogue, not monologue, last thing I wanna do before we go right is. And this sounds strange, but, you know, Jesus prayed against the spirit of deafness and dumbness, right? And you're like, okay, I'm not deaf, and I hope I'm not dumb.

Do you know if you're dumb. If you're dumb anyway, that's a different story. Okay, so. But not that kind of dumb. Dumb like you can't speak.

So he prayed against people who couldn't hear, and he prayed against people who couldn't speak and they were healed. The healer is in the room. And I wanna say this to you, okay, this sounds crazy, but this is the way I think. Okay? But I'm telling you what, I have this at times, especially when I'm going through difficult times with that rollercoaster.

I have the spirit of deafness and dumbness tries to get on me where I. Instead of proclaiming and declaring, lord, you are my refuge or whatever, right? I just find myself retreating and I don't say anything.

And I might be thinking it, but I'm not saying it sounds weird, but that's a deaf spirit. Cause why are you not declaring it? Or maybe you're trying to hear the Lord. Or actually you don't want to hear the Lord because you don't want to hear what he's going to say because you don't plan on doing it anyway. Deaf spirit.

So tonight as we stand together, I just want to take authority over deaf and dumb spirit. It sounds crazy, but I admit that I have had it before and maybe have it right now. I don't want that. I don't want anything hindering me from declaring the will of God. I don't want anything declaring his word over situation.

I don't want anything hindering that. I don't want anything hindering me from being able to pray. If God in the middle of the restaurant says, go pray for those people that I just go do it. I'm not gonna shrink back and put my hand over my mouth. I'm gonna go and declare what you're telling me to declare in Jesus name.

I'm gonna walk in the path of resilience. Lord, we need your resilience. And the same thing for those who need to hear. That's all of us, that we need spiritual Q tips to be clearing that out. It says the enemy tries to put a veil over people's hearts so they don't believe, they don't even know, they don't see.

We want the veil to be down tonight. So right now, one voice, simple. We don't need to make it loud. We don't need lasers and smoke and all that in one voice. In the name of Jesus, which is above all other names, every knee must bow.

I take authority over the dumb spirit that would hinder us from speaking and Saying whatever God tells us to say. Just tell me what you want me to say and I'll say it. Tell me what you want me to pray and I'll pray it. Tell me where to go and I'll go in Jesus name. And anything that's hindering us from a deaf spirit of being able to hear you, Lord, even if it's fear that I don't want to hear what you have to say, that's an honest thing.

Tell him about it. Start the dialogue. God says, come, let us reason together and start a conversation. But Lord, I wanna be able to hear and do whatever you tell me to do. I come against that spirit right now.

In the name of Jesus, Amen. Put that last slide up there. Just our three points again. I appreciate your time, Lord. We declare you, you are the ultimate example in this life of resilience.

In this life, there's nobody that's resilient like you, Lord. And I thank you, Lord, there is a resiliency available in the spirit of the Lord, I thank you for that resilience, Lord. And right now, just like some modem or whatever, we just pull like from the Internet modem pulls that stuff down or like a wi fi system, we stream like you stream Netflix, we stream that resiliency, your resiliency in that in Jesus name right now, right now we receive it. Right now, we receive it. Right now, right now we receive it.

We thank you for a download right now in Jesus name, I thank you for resiliency right now. I thank you for fibers of your spirit building on the inside of hearts that were hopeless. And hope is starting to flow right now. It says there abideth faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love.

The word abide means to live. There's a living love, a living hope, a living faith, hope and love living in you that like kudzu or crabgrass. It just keeps coming up. It keeps coming up. It keeps coming up.

I thank you for new love, new hope, new faith like kudzu is coming up right now. That resiliency is coming up right now. We pray for our families, we pray right now. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. As for me, let's say that together.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Now the enemy wants to say, well, what if they don't? Do you know what your son's doing right now? Do you know what you want? Stop all that.

As for me in my house, no deaf or dumb spirit, I'm going to declare what you told me to declare. Just like these writers in psalms, I'm writing my own psalms. If I need the words, I'll go to the psalms and let their words speak for me until I have my own vocabulary. Or we just connect with you, that we're going to continue walking and talking with you through adversity, keeping that dialogue going, allowing your resilience to grow. We give you all the praise and all the glory.

What? Lord, you. You are the only one who has it all together. And we're so grateful to be in this house today, to be part of this, as part of a body. Amen.

Amen. I want to challenge you. Look around if you know people. Look around if you know anybody. Does anybody know anybody?

Look around. And I want you to talk. Call them if you know them or whatever. Afterwards. We're done with eight, so we're going to go.

But start a dialogue with other people that you know about where you are on the roller coaster, right? You can come to the altar, but you can walk out. You can go get a couple coffee. Coffee or whatever. You go somewhere, go hang out, wait for the kids to be done.

But get used to talking. Look around. These are the people who understand the resilience sermon. People who are not here, don't know. These people know.

So if you say, can I talk to you about whatever that was he was talking about the other night? Yes. So look around. We need to create our own connections. One of the.

Part of the vision of the refuge is that we see people being connected. Right? Well, connect yourself. We have all kinds of ways to be connected. You can connect yourself and so connect with other people.

Here God may be pointing out somebody and like, I don't even know that person. So what? Get to know them and find yourself. I'm on the top, I'm on the bottom, or whatever, you know, wherever you are and recognize. Create these.

These holy conversations that join a small group. The men's prayer on Tuesday, the women's prayer on Monday. We got all kinds of things going on. But connect yourself to other people and be able to share that encouragement. Okay, last thing.

I'm serious. I'm done. Right? There's a word similar to this called resonate. And that's where something.

Two things reson and on a piano, you got like three strings of each note. So when you hit that note, the three strings are all tuned the same. And because they are, they actually help each other ring. It's not three strings, so it's three times louder. It's so that it lasts longer.

You follow me? Same with harps and all that stuff. There's multiple strings tuned the same way. Why are you telling me this? Because look around.

Here's the other strings. This is the other strings right now who understand this message. You can walk right out of here and just forget the whole thing. Or you can connect with somebody or get their phone number, do it later if you gotta go. But I mean, get other people that you can resonate with with the Lord and connect and pray.

And I'm telling you, God's gonna meet you in your kitchen. He's gonna meet you at Starbucks or wherever, and he's gonna meet you and start that. And that resonate. Cause the thing is, when I'm in tune with God's heart, then he's sustaining me. When I'm in tune with somebody who's in tune with God's heart, now he's sustaining us, right?

It keeps on going. So connect and resonate with the heart of God and help. You might be at the top and they may be at the bottom. Some in free fall tonight. If anybody needs prayer, I'm going to be here.
